Virginmoney regular saver - unable to open due to very poor service

Because Virgin regularly brings out new issues, allows you to hold all the issues at the same time, and does not penalize for withdrawals or failing to make a monthly contribution, after a short while they become in effect an easy access savings account paying 2.25%. That's a useful product considering what you could get elsewhere on an easy access savings account.0

I've had every Virgin RS that has come out, online and in store. For all the store accounts bar one I've made appointments. On one occasion I 'popped in' on the off chance that someone was available but was told an appointment was required, but then out on the street a member of staff came out, collared me and told me he had the time to do it. A lucky break.
When Virgin announce each store version they become understandably extra busy and some posters on here don't seem to be taking that into account. Done properly and fully opening an account takes time as they have to wade through all the T&Cs and the protection details. The staff in my store know me and don't put me through this any more, so it's quite quick. And pleasant actually as we've had conversations about this and that. The question of other products has never been broached. They have slipped me in on 31/1 to open the new one at my request - so that I can deposit cash over the counter there and then and bung in another £250 online the day after!
I was disappointed that they didn't increase the interest rate but as all the RS accounts are withdrawable it's only like having money on deposit at 2.25%. I'm maxed out everywhere else so it suits me fine.0 -
I opened two accounts with virgin a few days back, i did it online, quite painless really, unlike the AA's easy saver, which now longer works and the website is broken and i cant see my account. My cash will be outa there pronto.Mortgage free in June 2015.Yay!Now Debt free!... well i owe the wife a few quid.....0

Same experience with me.
Yesterday I visited the branch in Central London yesterday to open a regular savings account, but told that they can only do it next Sunday - I find it quite difficult to believe that all appointments next Monday-Saturday are full.
I tried calling the nearest branch to me this morning, but only got through to the answering machine. Left a message but so far no one has called me back yet.
At least they have decent mint tea so that was a consolation.
Am I correct to think that you can hold multiple regular saving accounts with them, provided that they are different issues?0 -

I went into the Birmingham one today just after 12, branch empty, about 5 minutes wait and they opened the account for me without fuss and even gave me a cup of coffee - no appointment. Good customer service I found. Just need to whack the money in tonight and good to go for a year.
Next is the Nottinghamshire BS one to try but might make an appointment for that as I am over that way for a sport but don't live nearbySam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.
