What I have just seen, is that there is a windows app for W10. Although I have W10, I don’t use their app, just the link I’ve given you. If you are using the windows app, maybe that’s an issue?.

I didn;t actually create a Google photos account but when I put an app for something else on my phone I had to log into Google and all my photos seemed to pop up in it.
The thing is, I don't want all the photos from my laptop popping up in my phone's memory as they will take up too much room.0 -

You have to appreciate, that if you use Google to store your photos, you can clear them of each of your devices to they take up NO memory.
Each photo you take, whether it be with your phone or camera, you send to Google Photos either by syncing or cable. Once they have been transported, that's it, they can be removed from your device/phone. To view them, you go to google photos.
