Because he’ll be on a two year contract on a phone that’s no longer supported0 -

Do you have proof that they won't support it? I really doubt Apple would drop support so quickly, they have never done it on any of their previous iOS devices. They run their natural course over a number of years.0 -

Why would apples flagship phone be unsupported inside two years? Sorry but that comment is completely untrue, they still support the iPhone 6 Plus on the latest IOS.0 -
It's only a good deal in the sense that a Ferrari at half price is a 'good deal', when a Ford Focus at a fraction of the price will do the same job. You are still paying nearly £600 pa for a mobile phone, when a cheaper Android phone will cost less than a quarter of that.
I think you are confusing 'want' with 'need'...No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

Yes but I retain a resale value after 2 years or move to Sim Only, Macman have you seen the prices quoted online with all the providers?0 -

Considering the iPhone 5S is still supported that’s highly unlikely.
Maybe you’re confusing superseded or discontinued (which happens with most flagship phones every year) with not supported?====0 -
Any iPhone X "deal" is not a deal..0
