    if i download s/w say Office.exe then get a key, usually by email, i keep the email (try to keep the email), and rename the file to office, add a version, add the registered username or email account and sn xxxx-xxxx-xxxx.exe I can the copy and past the relevant bits when it asks for licensing.

    it looks like
    office_v2002.123_were_sn_xxxx-xxxx-xxxx.exe

    sometimes this is inappropriate, so i do it to a folder that contains the file
