Another thing to consider with these giveaway sites is that part of the activation may be done online. This part of the activation is only available during the free period so attempts to activate after that time will fail.

After activation, take a copy of the temp folder that was created. The activation just enables the unpacking of installation files. (Last time I checked.)

if i download s/w say Office.exe then get a key, usually by email, i keep the email (try to keep the email), and rename the file to office, add a version, add the registered username or email account and sn xxxx-xxxx-xxxx.exe I can the copy and past the relevant bits when it asks for licensing.

it looks like
office_v2002.123_were_sn_xxxx-xxxx-xxxx.exe

sometimes this is inappropriate, so i do it to a folder that contains the file
