Back from DM jobs. New keys cut, shoes in for stretching, Premuim Bond cheque in, cash out, things from Boots bought and then treated myself to a reviving coffee and lemon drizzle cake. :j. DM is now busy completing the Timpson’s online review even though it was me who went. :rotfl:
I also bought myself a new Ann Cleeves Vera book ‘Seagull’, I really tried to resist, honestly.
Lainey - such sad news about your beloved Rosie. You can rest easy knowing you all did the best for her.
Csarina - my new mattress is such a great thing. It’s a big decision to make but it’s a world of difference. As I paid for disposal of the old mattress the JL were brilliant. Old one downstairs into the van, new one up the stairs, unwrapped, put on the bed frame and wrapping and mattress taken away. They give a two hour slot and the text when 30 minutes away.
ETA - DM wants me to take back the tub of baking powder I bought as it says on it ‘makes light muffins’ and she doesn’t want to make muffins, she wants ‘ordinary’ baking powder! I’ve tried to explain...
Right, cup of tea time. I’ll get on the PC when DM goes to watch Doctors after the news.0 -
I appear to have lost yesterday, not sure what happened to it:( I did get to knit and natter and had a good time, but where the rest of the day went to I don't know:(
Lainey, Dumpling Csarina, the TAs, hugs to you all and anyone else who would like one.
Did my PT session this morning, went well, but as usual I am shattered now, not helped by eating bacon and eggs for brunch and now feeling a little icky:(
We heard of "the 3rd death" today, firstly lovely neighbour, then dear man from OH's cycling group and now OH's aunt by marriage, the last of a generation, but all great ages and in fairly good health until recently.
Another cuppa and then must find some energy to visit ma and take her some flowers, tomorrow is my late dad's birthday, and then the dreaded SM shop as we are out of green veggies. The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0 -
Lainey- so sorry to hear about poor little Rosie, that must have been a shock to get that phone call
,but you were there when she went to sleep & she didnt know anything about it.Loads of hugs xxx
Dumpling you are a good Mum,you show your love for your family in everything you write.I'm glad you are feeling a little better after your little cry, sometimes it does you good.Hugs to you too xxx
Csarina hope things improve for you soon x
Taken DGS to nursery school this morning,he was in good spirits after a good sleep.I have to make up stories in the car for him,it usually involves ScoobyDoo and the gang but he is included in the adventure too :rotfl:Todays included a snake and a crocodile at his request.
I heard about a new shop within walking distance that is selling fruit and veg,a lot of it organic from local growers, and decided to pay a visit. They also sell dried goods & spices that you can put in your own container.as the shop is plastic free.I have been trying to be better with this myself especially since I saw the blue planet programme which horrified me.Anyway I got some f&v,some rice and muesli. They had hand made soap but I already buy that, but are looking into toiletries next.I hope they do well,it's 2 young Mums who have started it.
I am making samosa pie for tea, basically an Indian spiced mince with scrunched up filo pastry on the top,it seemed to go down well last time.

Hello all. Bit late today, again
.
The weather is awful, with heavy rain, sleet and hail showers.
We went to town this morning to put a cheque in the bank, only Mr Fix It had left it on the dining room table. I also wanted a new top for our night away. I have plenty of black or navy but I just felt like I needed something brighter. I found a white top with flowers on it in the sale, for the princely sum of £3 :T.
Met my BF who told me that her Mum had passed peacefully while she was holding her hand. The funeral is on Feb 6th as there is a backlog at the Crem so that's nearly a months wait . Called in Al*i for a few bits on the way home and it was quite busy but I only spent £13 :j.
Just had another window man here who thought he recognised me. I think I must have one of those faces, as I already have a lookalike in the police force in MK and another lady who works in Cardiff. Blimey! Who knew there could be three people who look like me.
Don't know what's for tea tonight, will have a rummage in the freezer later.
Dumpling I hope you are feeling a little better now. Nearly every parent has questioned themselves about their ability to bring up a family, me included. Please know that you come across as a most caring and loving Mum and wife. Never, ever, think that you aren't that and much more. :A.
LaineyT I am so sorry to read about Rosie. She's probably running over the Rainbow Bridge already.
TA please can I join your DGD's for your Thursday Pasta Bake, it sounds so delicious. I'm only small so you wouldn't even know I was there and I'd clear the table and wash up, honest. I hope the oncology visit goes well today for Mr TA.
OK enough wittering, my coffee has gone cold so I'll have to make myself another. Oooh Mr Fix It is making me one, probably to make up for leaving the cheque at home :rotfl:.
Take care and hugs to all.Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently0 -
Lainey sending you hugs about the news that Rosie has crossed the rainbow bridge
((((((HUGS)))))))
Also hugs for anyone else who needs one think it may be that time of year
Dumpling hope you are feeling better as others have said you are a wonderful mum

Me again, sorry for my previous post, I was going to delete it but I've had a good cry and have now pulled up my big girl pants.
There are so many of us with difficulties, people coping with ill parents, health issues, wayward children, poorly pets and the list goes on. We are all amazing for coping and just putting one foot in front of the other to get through each day. It really helps that there is virtual support and a great big listening ear when it all gets a bit much.
Today, I am going to get washed and dressed, get dinner ready for everyone and generally just get on with it. The same as everyone else on here.
Sending you all so much love xx
Dumpling,
No need for apologies & glad you didn’t delete your previous post - sometimes it is a help to get things off your chest. Especially here on the MSE OS Forums - there are so many wonderful people who can empathise & sympathise and offer a sounding board.
I admire & respect you & the strength you show each time you post.
Thank you:grouphug:

Morning everyone,
Am sorry to say that it's the worst possible news re Rosie, we stayed with her whilst they administered the sedative so they could do the scans and then left. I went over the stables to see my girlie and then got a phone call to say that Rosie's heart had stopped whilst under the anaesthetic for the biopsy and unfortunately they couldn't revive her. I drove straight home, picked up my DOH together with Tilly and we all went to say goodbye to our beautiful girl. She was wrapped up cosy in a blanket and just looked like she was asleep, we lifted Tilly up so that she could sniff her and hopefully understand? She lay down with her sister.
Feel completely heartbroken but keep thinking that it was probably the best thing that could have happened for Rose, no invasive surgery, no horrible treatments, she just fell asleep.
Sorry I couldn't bring you better news x
