Good morning,
As predicted, yesterday I didn't get home till midnight after work. And when the alarm went off at 5.30am, I could have just rolled over. But, I scrapped myself out my bed and went to the gym.
Tonight is our works Burns Night. 300 guests, so I'll be busy making sure everyone's got a smile on their face so another late one, more than likely.
Oh, I also went to iron my shirt this morning and my ironing board literally crumbled into bits. I inherited this from the previous inhabitant, so I can't really complain. Visited Asda before work and bought a new one for £15.
Dumpling - No need to apologise. That's what we're here for. And there's no need to beat yourself up at all!!
TA - I don't know how you manage half of the time.
AoD - Well said!0 -
Lainey such a sad outcome but in the best possible way for Rosie xx
TA please can you slow down a bit?
Karcher how are you after your dose of lurgy?

Not a lot of words, just hugs for Lainey and dumpling.
I have a day alone - DH has gone out for a long distance walk so it will be the longest stretch I've had alone since he retired. TBH we get on really well so life is peaceful but I have always enjoyed my own company as well so I'm really looking forward to a solitary day.0 -
Lainey sorry for the loss of your old friend which is what animals become isn't it.I don't have a pet but can understand how folk get attached to them.Your lovely dog went to sleep and had no pain which is what we all hope for every living creature at the end .
Dumpling you do your very best for you family and I am so amazed at how well you cope you sound an amazing lady and I bet your OH loves the bones off you along with your girls
TA just look after yourself Missus too much rushing around isn't good.
Karcher I hope you bug is going away asap.nasty lot of bugs around this winter.
Well here in Kent the sun is up and shining, and the washing I did last night is going on the line shortly for a bit of a blow.
Just have to do my shopping list for tomorrow ,only the second shop this month so I am pleased at how my freezer replaced the shopping for a couple of weeks.I am only buying whats needed as well as the purse strings have been tightened up .I have my DGS Jack's 18th birthday next month so I want to treat him to something nice, as well as probably a bit of cash to go into his 'driving fund '
General pottering around day today to catch up on some housework I am out to dinner this Saturday night which will be nice at a friends house.
Hope every one is warm and dry ,almost the end of this horrible month and the daffodils will soon be in the gardens and shops to brighten us all up.
Take care chums

Confirmation yesterday that we won’t be going to Canada. At least now I can plan the next couple of weeks.
First I have to decide what I’m packing for the funeral - I go through to Edinburgh this afternoon. Just as well I was planning to drive as the trains are cancelled.
Not sure when I’ll get a chance to post but I’ll be back on Sunday at some point.Goals - Weight loss 6/26lb at 22nd Jan 18Mmmm. 26lb at 1/7/18. Oops:o0 -
Morning all,
Dumpling i'm glad your feeling a little better now youve had a good cry. Your not a bad parent, a bad parent wouldnt give a toss about their children so that rules you out. I'm telling you this but telling myself that too having one child so screwed up on drugs its affected his mental health and another child who is an alcoholic. How i hate drugs and alcohol!
All is well with me, i seem to have slept better over the last few nights. Long may it continue!
Talking about eldest, he's got an appointment at the hospital on Friday to check his liver. Needless to say ive got everything crossed that all will be ok...AA meetings are his lifeline at the moment.
Not much planned for my day but i am going through my kitchen cupboards. Ive got loads of baking tins that i dont use any more now theres only three of us. I am only going to keep what i use. I also need to bleach wash the side of the house, it stinks of dog.
Onwards and forwards,
have a great day all. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.
Lainey, so sorry to hear about Rosie, but kind in a way, no suffering. You will miss her, but she will always have been part of your family.
Dumpling, you are doing the best you can to cope with what life has thrown at you, you are a fantastic Mum, and don't you forget it!! Have extra hugs both of you.
We have sunshine, yesterday was a cold horrid nasty wet day and OH was a pain in the proverbials, the Dr came and has taken him off one medication and changed another. He is up, but has just put his chair back with a dizzy. I need to nip to the post office and to put two prescriptions in at the Drs.
Chicken out for supper tonight, will have it with rice and peas. More of the trifle to go, maybe enough for tomorrow too.
Heating is on low and off in the bedroom, window open, door shut.
I was so cross the other day, I offered the little TV the other day on Freecycle, the chap said he was coming to collect it and did not turn up or contact me to apologise. I put it back on yesterday, someone else has asked for it, waiting to hear when she can come for it. If this one falls through I am going to offer it to Emmaus, they accept anything to raise money for the homeless. Thats where the settee will be going too when I manage to sort out a new one. I did see something on the HSL web site yesterday, its a drop end settee which you can also use as a single bed.........I really want to go to the show room to look at it and make sure its really what I want, but unless I can get someone to sit with OH for a couple of hours its out for the moment.
We could really do with a new bed as well, the base is ok but the mattress is beginning to develop dips where we sleep. Cannot decide whether to replace the whole thing or just the mattress. As far as I can see the mattress is the most expensive bit of the bed. Its 8 years since I bought it.
Once again I am in your debt, your messages have helped to keep me going. The whole situation is very frustrating, I know we just have to wait for the situation to resolve, its just at the moment with still not up to par myself, I am feeling down. Having to bite my tongue a lot..........0 -
