Apple App Store update and Apps no longer work.

Then you're wrong. It's the APP developer's responsibility to ensure apps work with OS updates, not Apple's.
And do you really think they'll be bothered about a "I'll vote with my feet" message? Not. A. Chance.keith47424 wrote: »The worst thing is that I have never been able to have the opportunity to actually download the maps to enable them to be used "offline".
Also the app developer's fault if they decided not to build that functionality into the app. Or are you going to try and (erroneously) pin the blame on Apple for that as well?0 -
Which I can appreciate. Yet Apple take part of the money don't they? Of course they do surely and don't they therefore have some sort of responsibility on this by, as mentioned earlier, allowing the chance to be able to use the app in order to get what it was downloaded for in the first place? I know that this is now not the case and it is just so very disappointing that I have downloaded £60 worth of in app purchases which I can no longer use. I suppose that I will have to take it on the chin but it hurts when it is such a large amount of money. Oh well chalk that one up to experience.
Shame that some don't appear to what to hel.Regards Keith0 -

I think it is around 30% they take.
But at the end of the day the issue is with the developer not apple.Dwy galon, un dyhead,

And never pay £60 for an app again0

Too right. Lesson learnt. Shame that the app developers would not also correspond to at least say sorry?Regards Keith0

Sadly yes, I would have thought they would have at least made some sort of refund, even if only partially.Dwy galon, un dyhead,

At the bottom of Schweers Wall homepage (http://www.schweers-wall.de/) there is a note that says "Hinweis zur iTunes Eisenbahnatlas App: Aus wirtschaftlichen Gründen kann das Projekt leider nicht weitergeführt werden.", which means "Note to the iTunes Railroad Atlas App: For economic reasons, the project can unfortunately not be continued.".
I presume this is the app you refer to? If so, it has been discontinued, and would never receive any further updates, whether that be functional or bug fixes, or - more pertinently - updating for major version releases of iOS
This happens more than you may realise, and its just bad luck. If its been withdrawn from the app store, you couldn't even download it on to a device that is at the right version of iOS (however, if you already have it downloaded to a PC/Mac hidden under iTunes, then you would be able to install it).0 -

And ok the in apps were purchased a year ago but still not my fault that the app no longer work.
One thing that you haven't considered is an app may have features that Apple now consider a security risk so there is no way they will allow apps with that feature to run on the latest version of IOS. Apple are very strict with what you can do with your phone so anyone developing for them should know that it needs to be regularly updated. I don't think you can really blame Apple because the way they restrict their phone is widely known and reported and you chose to have one.glentoran99 wrote: »Ive still got flappy birds on mine and if I update it wont work
If you had an Android Device you could keep it up to date and still be able to install a fresh copy of Flappy Birds.0 -
