    Morning all
It's another cold, wet and windy day here. Even the bevy of collared doves have yet to move out of the shelter of our trees. Think they have the right idea today.
I was woken in the early hours by another ambulance in the street, but couldn't make out if it was next door but one, or two. I went back to bed before it left.
I have stripped the bed and put the bedding in the WM and along with another 2 washes, everything will be dried indoors, again :(. The DW has also been emptied and refilled with the breakfast dishes.
We decided to get on the weighing scales today. Mr Fix It has put weight on . and I have lost 2lbs :j since Xmas. I'm pleased with that but we have to get back on that diet truck now !
Had some great news yesterday, DD has had a promotion, she deserves it as she works hard and we are so proud of her. :T.

maybe my Dad could be the warlock as a "wizard" seems too gentle a term :(.
Tru a spare room :T. Now what are you going to fill it with ?
Karcher glad you're on the mend
TA and Holly I agree about the calm and quiet areas disappearing from the neighborhoods. :(
Fingers crossed for LaineyT too today. Hope the move goes well for Lulu.
Righty ho enough procrastinating, I'd better go and remake the bed and put the hoover on.
Have a good day all and hugs to everyone.

Just wanted to say to Hester
An 80 year old living near me has just had his cateracts done - he offered to go anywhere else that could do it and got it done really quick. It would be worth asking. He didnt have to pay privately either.

Hello chums ,what wild and windy weather it is outside I am staying firmly indoors today.DD has the day off so I don't need to watch the boys.I will have the last of my leek and tattie soup for lunch shortly, then its feet up a movie from my TiVo box and my knitting to be getting on with. I hope you are all warm and dry, its definitely a day to be in the warm I think.

Just been chatting to my DGS Danny in NYC via WhatsApp, he wants me to go out there for a holiday ,but I'm not a great flyer so I will have to think long and hard first :) His Mum, my eldest DD, is going next month with my son-in-law, and again in October. Its such a long way and I'm not mad keen on NYC anyway :)bit too noisy for me, we shall see.

Right time to get my lunch on the go. Hugs to those going through a tough time at the moment

    Cheers chums

    Afternoon everyone

New job going well, finding it tiring back to full time working, quite often working 7 days in a row on shifts. Now on 3 days off, need to clean house and factor in some me time.

Been to craft group this morning, didn’t get much done, more talking and laughter with coffee and cake.

Dw and wm chugging away. Must put the hoover round. Need to make an appt with the drs, think I’m going through the menopause but waking every night and other symptoms- it’s driving me mad and I feel quite rough at times.

AOD - I get emails from central tickets - offering free tickets to shows, concerts and classical music events - mainly London based and at short notice, might be worth a look.

Csarina - hugs to you, you sound exhausted dealing with everything, hope you can get some help.

Hugs to anyone that needs/wants one. Take care

    Afternoon all,

DH & DS were rained off their job today, the brickies couldnt lay bricks in the torrential rain .I'm afraid Ly1a had a very short walk and we were still soaked through. Now its windy but the sun is out

My hairdresser came this morning to give me a much needed trim.We go way back, ever since I started working with his wife in 1995  so we caught up on all the news. They became grandparents a few months ago and are smitten :) After he'd gone a work mate of DH called and stayed chatting for ages.He was bringing his quote for an extension DH is pricing but he is very funny & made us laugh.2 visitors in 1 day, sometimes I dont see anyone all week when the men are working!

I've made some turkey burgers for DS as I bought some minced turkey at the weekend and it needed using. Most of them are in the freezer now.His skin is really bad atm (eczema) & he's been reading up on it,well we both have and think he might have a' leaky gut 'so I went to the big health shop yesterday in town for probiotics and caught the last of the penny sale so got 2 bottles, and I made some bone broth which is meant to help too, fingers crossed.

Tru- yay a spare room.Beware though, sometimes they come back ;),as in my case.Poor Scampi,we have the booster trip in a couple of months-I dread it.She usually wees all over the consulting room :(

Lainey hope you get on ok at the vets x

Elona I actually have Burglars Blend burning in an aromatherapy burner right now,its lovely! I read about thieves oil on the prepping thread. I got aromatherapy qualifications quite a few years ago and used to have a small sideline going doing treatments, but I'd never heard of this so did a search. I came across BB which seemed cheaper and had good reviews .I already had a couple of the oils but it would have cost as much to buy the others separately.

Off to pick DGS up from Nursery shortly, then DS will get DGD,although she came last night as well.

Csarina, sorry DH has been dizzy again, you both must be so fed up x
    Take care everyone x

No you cant they really take the biscuit sometimes and have you noticed how everyone elses daughters /sons do so much for them . I will book the minibus to do the coven pick up just let me know the date n time you need collection DH has offered me ear plugs for the journey :D
  • I have probably mentioned this before but I lost my mother about 15 years ago, after suffering Parkinsons and later dementia. Despite holding down a stressful job and having the kids at home (not to mention DD's ne'er do well bf at the time) she thought I should be at her beck and call any time, with constant demanding phone calls day and night and eventually I was. Even that wasn't enough - she thought I should leave the family and go home to look after her! And do you know what - I don't think even think that would have been enough!

My one hope is that I keep my faculties intact and remember what life was like for us and never inflict anything like that on my own kids.

Have a good evening all and sending good sleep vibes to the insomniacs. (I am currently watching Scooby Doo with youngest DGD who is on a half hour reprieve then bed!) xx
"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"
  • I repeatedly remind my kids that they should put me in a home before I become a burden and that I will come back and haunt them if them if they don't.
    Chin up, Titus out.

Tiredmum are you bonkers ? I wouldn't want anything to do with the pick up, with or without earplugs. In fact I'd even chip in for some poor soul er a nice chauffuer. :D
TA when collecting my Mum's will from the solicitors, my Dad picked up a leaflet and showed it to Mr Fix It. It transpired to be a leaflet on divorce. Mr Fix It believed that my Dad wanted us to divorce and then I could go to live with him .
Sleep tight all, the Sandman's on his way :).
