I respect your opinion IamEmanresu, always have, but I think behind the scenes there are loads more people than we realise, using the NEWBIES thread and winning, without needing to post to ask anything. Hope so.

And we must be doing something right with 99% win rate at court, and similar (a close second) at POPLA.

Before the NEWBIES thread existed we were drowning in queries. Can't do that again and I am sure Quentin and others copy & paste a standard response, no typing needed to signpost people to the answer.

What was the thing I promised to add, earlier this month? Something useful on a thread you also posted on...I recall saying to you 'I will but I am going out now' then never had time/real life took over. Can you remember?

Those are pretty amazing stats - well done !

Do you have any proof of these please

Only cases by Britton and Zita_Z were lost in 2017, out of those posters who got our advice from start to finish, AND followed it all, fully coached. And Zita_Z pretty much cancelled out her own loss by winning one and losing one!

So the stats are based on that, bearing in mind we assist (my guesstimate) perhaps a dozen new court claim cases per week, and say a third drop out scared or for whatever reason, but the other two thirds stay with us - at least to get a decent defence in.

But some then never return. So I am only counting the (say) half of those posters who actually stick around, return regularly, and are fully-coached to the hearing/discontinuance winning conclusion.

A very conservative estimate based on that, bearing in mind some of us read every single post, every day, and would notice any loss reported, is that 200+ people were fully coached here last year and stayed with it, and all either won or (commonly) got a discontinuance, except the two losses named above.

Not saying no-one loses, but almost no-one does, and there's no real risk as long as no court deadline or direction is missed, no CCJ if the loser just pays, and probably less than the debt collectors were demanding!

: NEWBIES thread has just one appeal now - what else needs changing please?

    The first appeal :-)

The first appeals have evolved beyond all recognition to workable appeals which were cancelled by parking companies first time.

One size fits all and not fit for purpose contradictory with requesting further data processing and yet trying to put forward a Section 10 cease and desist all in one go.

I am also possibly with IamEmanaresu, the number of queries regarding the Newbie thread or posters directing to the Newbie thread and numerous links causes some abrasive comments.

The Newbie thread and full credit to Coupon Mad for maintaining this over the years has become complicated with many links and can be overwhelming

As a result of a suggestion from Fruitcake, it might be a future strategy to quote (appropriately) comments made by MPs in the recent Private Members Bill debate which cast shadows of doubt over either specific PPCs or PPC activities, using the transcript of the debate.

I wonder whether this link (and a few appropriate words) might be added somewhere (but probably post #3) in the NEWBIES FAQ sticky?

I have not read it so will confine comment to a question.

WRT Sir Greg Knight's bill, have you advised OPs of the forthcoming demise of the industry, and advising them to complain to their MPs? Perhaps a link to the video.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

Now that is a worthwhile suggestion!

From the thread where I suggested this.

These are some of the comments made by the MPs concerning the unregulated parking industry.

Cowboy companies, signage deliberately confusing to ensure a PCN is issued, rogue parking companies, bloodsuckers, absolute disgrace, rogue operators, unfair charges and notices, wilfully misleading, signage is a deliberate act to deceive or mislead, unreasonable, designed to trap innocent drivers, a curse, harassing, operating in a disgusting way, appeals service is no guarantee of a fair hearing, loathed, outrageous scam, dodgy practice, outrageous abuse, unscrupulous practices, the BPA is as much use as a mulri-storey car park in the Gobi desert.

I think these words should be included in every appeal to PPCs, PoPLA, complaints to landowners/retail managers, the BPA, IPC, MPs, PALS, DVLA, etcetera.

Where an MP has made a specific comment about a specific PPC, I think those very words should be quoted in the appeals/complaints to the PPC, PoPLA, landowner etcetera.
