Festive Fivers Competition: The best Xmas pressies for under £5

NAME OF PRESENT: Charity shopping
ADULTS OR KIDS: Both
MAKE OR BUY : Buy
TOTAL COST: Very cheap !
:santa2:
You can find some great bargains and unusual gifts at your local charity shops. Not just second-hand stuff, many charity shops stock reasonably priced new items at this time of the year too.
You can also pick up cheap Christmas decorations, cards and gift wrap.
Buying from these shops saves you money, supports charities, and recycles stuff which might otherwise have been thrown away, so you're helping the environment too. Everybody wins !
After Christmas, when the children have discarded last year's toys in favour of this year's, you can donate their unwanted toys to the charity shops (and any unwanted gifts you may have received !), or make a bit of extra cash for yourself and sell them on Ebay or at a car boot sale.

- Name of present? The First Day of Christmas
- Do you make it or buy it?Buy it
- Total Cost? About £4:50
- Details (the more the better)
"On the first day of Christmas my true love gave to me, a partridge in a pear tree!"
So you buy A Partridge Family Christmas Card from a seller on www.play.com for around £3.50, and you then pop to Boots, or your local chemist for a nice bar of Pear's clear soap (around 90p). Go out into your garden, get a twig, attach the box of pears soap to the twig with string or gift tape, and attach the cd to the twig too. Et voila, a partidge (family cd) in a pear(s soap) tree!- Where possible please add a link if it's an online offer
Out of interest... what did you do for the other 12 days??0 -
Name of present? Win a million
Do you make it or buy it? Buy it
Total Cost? £1 - £5 per person (depending on how generous your feeling)
Details (the more the better) Buy a lottery ticket with either 1 line or 5 lines. Roll it up and wrap a delicate ribbon round it. Put them all over the christmas tree and when the family come round you can hand them out. At least they have a chance of winning millions!
(My family have said the same for many christmas's - Only buy for the children. But each year all the adults still get a little something from everyone and this way they dont feel left out of receiving gifts)0 -
I sat and made my boyfriend a book of time last and included loads of stuff even helping to wash his great big truck which i hate doing lol
