Each to their own but what is the difference they were offering, many companies use the same profiles and the same reinforcement internally.

what really gets me with these companies is the price they start at, why not be upfront and quote the one price take it or leave it ( as do many independants)

Because then they can't use fake discounts to encourage the customer that they're getting a fantastic deal and should sign straight away so they don't lose it. Its the same that pushes black friday sales.

I still remember my parents getting a quote from CR Smith when I was younger and the rep being very confused why my dad told him to leave after he immediately offered a 50% discount (because that meant they were artificially inflating the price to mislead).

sorry been posting on another thread. Basically they returned with the replacement sealed units and put one in ok then broke the other one same place as the first time. Then tried to get me to pay and use the guarantee to claim for replacement. I am not happy. I refused to pay and they drove off. so stalemate at the moment.

I also had a salesman from zenith visit my home same scenario stayed for over 4 hours gave me a massively inflated quote, I said no, he rang his office and low and behold the quote came right down, I thought it was more reasonable, then he took £349 for admin fees I couldn’t believe I actually paid it! after he left it all sank in, the he had left me with was still too high, I cancelled the order and asked for the fee back but was told it was non refundable, I feel so stupid, how did I let that happen!? I know how! After 4 hours of information and constant talking they brainwash you into thinking you’ve got a good deal, use their board for advertising then they make you think that you’re getting a big discount, he told me to keep the price “confidential” making me think it must be good! I feel so angry and upset, should they be allowed to get away with this??

MY solicitor says we can apply for a refund under section 75 of the credit act if paid by credit card so all is not lost
