Staples Stationers Price Match Warning

The measurements are different, but seriously... do you think Really Useful would produce two different products that are just 5mm difference in height? Far too much faff and cost to them as a business to adjust the moulds just 5mm to supply one seller.
Bearing in mind, their own website lists just ONE size of 10L box.
Turns out Really Useful did not take into account the lip on the bottom of the box that fits into the lid of another. Dunelm clearly did, hence the difference. Why they didn't copy the manufacturer spec I don't know. Couldn't order from [Dunelm] though as the local store has no stock. No way to order in. The nearest store with them in is 60 mins round trip.
It's really about the principle, not the 79p difference. Like that guy who took o2 to court because they didn't understand the difference between 0.9p and £0.9. They refunded him, but didn't actually address the issue.0 -
I think it should be obvious here that the products are the same and that the difference is merely in the description. To rely on the difference in descriptions as a means of refusing a price match is a poor show on the part of staples. They probably realise it is too much of a faff to process given the amount involved.
On principle, I'd be returning the staples product for a full refund and letting them know why. I'm petty though!0 -

What is 85mm rounded to a centimetre figure?
Obviously we understand. But no evidence of rounding up in individual product description until compared with Staples. If rounding up has occurred then the description is inaccurate as it implies the Dunelm one is larger and thus may have more capacity, or takes up more space. If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0 -

I do.
I wouldnt state something was 9cm though and then call it 4 inches.
Especially when they state soemthign is 52cm but is 20".
Whilst theyre consistent with their rounding. If you take the inches measurments your buying a
W 33cm x L 51 cm x H10cm.
Thats a litre and a half of volume difference or more than 10%.
Boo Hiss!! Rubbish staples the stationary shop that apparently struggle with accuracy and measurements.
Complain OP, demand that 79p!!0 -
This is the barcode for the product at dunelm.

Ring staples and ask them to do a price check on that item.
Then youll have your answer.0 -
Turns out Dunelm had wrong measurements on their website.
However, for Staples to refuse and suggest they're two different products IS poor service from them; even when I asked them to link to each "different" version from the manufacturer website...0 -

I suspected this from the beginning of reading this thread as I have seen a similar discrepancy elsewhere. The brand name and image should be sufficient to assume that the measurements were identical and hence it was the same product. I doubt the company would be producing two different batches with just 5mm difference in one parameter.0
