    Why?..........

If you need to ask you won't understand the answer.
The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....

I have 14 current accounts (like any good money saver maximising rewards and interest), so I can usually find something to complain about at least once a week.

This is the saddest thing I have ever read :(

Don’t be so patronising. I’m not afraid of a debate or being challenged, but I genuinely don’t understand why anyone could claim that my standing up for a good level of service (and being compensated with it isn’t) is immoral

Apologies but I’m new today to the forum & unsure where I should post this. Please direct me if this is not the place to post this.
I withdrew some money over the counter at a Bank. When I got home I realised it was short by a large amount of money. I called logged the issue and was called back 2 days later returning my money with an apology. They said it was a bank error.
Can I be compensated for the 2 days of stress worrying if I would get my money back?

In a compensation society anything is possible. However I do get annoyed reading posts such as yours. Sorry.

For those thinking that requesting compensation for any little thing is savvy; you’re misdirecting resources that should be spent on issues like general customer service, to dealing with your repetitive complaining. And yes you must be repetitively complaining because no bank just drops money at the first request.

You’re also indirectly making the rest of us pay for your compensation ; as most banks in no way pay for this out of their profits. Companies will look for economies elsewhere, or they find creative ways to increase their income (charges etc). End result? Everyone gets a worse service and pays more for it.

    Wrong.

I suggest you try complaining. You’ll be surprised how quick they are to offer cash.

Sometimes words just fail me at what some people will do.

And please don't talk as you've previously done about doing it as a favour to the banks, I think your following comment says everything

The banks always give money to resolve the complaint within 48 hours as they are mindful of their ombudsman statistics

It’s a win-win for both me (compensation) and the bank (feedback they can use to improve their customer service/loyalty)... absolutely no contradiction in what I said
