Is there a small community type hall you could hire. I did this for my 6 year old. The hall was £20. He invited 15 people (only because it was cheap). I done the food myself. I bought empty cardboard cartons like the ones you get in MacDonalds Kids Meals etc and put a 'mini' pack up in each one. I then just left the boxes on the side so no trays of sarnies etc to worry about. There was very little mess to clean and the kids that were't hungry took it home. The theme was fancy dress Pirates and Princes and we played a few games and had music but the kids were happy just chasing each other!

Those we love don't go away,They walk beside us every day,Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed and very dear
Our thoughts are ever with you,Though you have passed away. And those who loved you dearly,
    Are thinking of you today.

My 13 year old wants a paintball party! A bit expensive but great fun and seeing as it is her last party........they are allowed to go paintballing from age 12. a friend of mines daughter had a theatre party.. booked 10 seats in a row for the early show (5.30) then they all went to a reasonable restaurant afterwards.. they all loved it as it was quite grown up. They always love a disco but this can be difficult at that ae if they go to a single sex school. I will be interested to see others ideas and will watch this space.....
I have had brain surgery - sorry if I am a little confused sometimes ;)

    Hi parsnips,

Last year for her 14th birthday we had a barbeque for our daughter and her friends. All you need to do is supply the food and music and leave them to it.

In our area they do little pamper parties. I think a few of the salons do them, but basically they come round to your house and do nails, hair, make-up etc on all the girls. You could try seeing if there is anything like that in your area. I have never seen one of these in action yet - my little girl is only 3, but I noted it for years to come!!!

I guess so... the one I had seen is advertised in our local free paper (Lancashire). I'll have a dig around and see what I can come up with - whereabouts are you?
