Morning
Dark and cold winters day here cant see if its icy yet hoping not.
I'm off to take the car in for an air conditioning recharge. Sounds a bit mad I know as there is certainly no need for it at the moment its heated seats and hot air blasting air weather. When I took the car in for its service last week I mentioned that the windows inside were getting wet on a cold morning assuming it was a window seal or something but apparently its because there is no air recirculating due to a dead air conditioning unit so that needs sorting. Hoping it wont take too long as I need to wait again.
After that I am dropping some returns back to next then on to get a few bits from asda. Hoping to be home pretty sharpish as I have lots of work to do today.
Dumpling you have had such a lot to deal with its no surprise you are stressed
Lainey Hope rosie had a good night
FBO stay strong love
Have a good day all:A0 -
Good morning all
Thanks for starting us off dumpling, it's no wonder you feel tearful, you've had so much to deal with, take care of yourself.
TA such a difficult decision
Lainey how's Rosie?
No snow here just rain. Not planning on doing much today, just stay in and keep warm.
Hope you all have a good dayIf you walk at night no-one will see you cry.0 -
Morning all, OH reports that it is fine ATM and a little warmer than yesterday.
Seems we are off to the county town car shopping, OH has decided that he would like a car with a bit more pulling power (for towing the caravan not the other "pulling" :rotfl::rotfl:. It would make things a lot easier as we found some tough gradients last year in Wales and also on our way to Scotland. I am praying that the model that he has selected will be OK for me to drive as I have loved our 2 Berlingos. May try and wangle calling into A*sda for some GF flour as we live so far away from a decent SM
TA - my dad made the best of everything and had his car converted to hand controls, ma is ticking over and dreads the thought of a home, but sadly has made her condition worse by eating too much and putting on a lot of weight, thus getting into a vicious circle of pain, not wanting to move etc. Don't get me wrong, I do understand, but it has given me some very harsh life lessons in terms of what not to do in respect of my own health issues:(
Dumpling - I hope that you feel brighter soon, a natural reaction to all that has been going on I guess.
Lainey - hugs, been there, worn that T shirt a number of times, I feel for you.
FBO - will be sending coping vibes, take care.
Hugs and spoons plentiful if anyone needs one.xThe best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0 -
Lots of people going through a tough time at the moment, FBO, TA, dumpling, Lainey, csarina, NMLC to name just a few, apologies if I've missed you out - it's my memory at fault.
Has anyone heard from Tru lately?
I've almost finished sewing the giant quit top - just got two edging strips to go. Then I have to gird y loins for the sandwiching of the layers and quilting. I must say I'm pleased with the way it's come out, the blocks have been sitting in a drawer for at least two years waiting for me to pluck up the courage to join them together.
I felt really ill yesterday, so much so that I had to go back to bed in the afternoon, a bit better today but still not 100%. I must go and have my shower and try to find a bit of energy.0 -
Morning all
Raining here earlier but brighter now and milder. DH left at 7.45 to take DD for an MRI at Soutmead hospital. Her appointment was at 9.00 am and it is allthe way across Bristol from where we live on the south side of the city. DGS has gone too and Grampy will amuse him with a new Thomas the Tank engine comic. DD has an early appointment so it wont take long.
Dumpling hang in there hun.
Well hugs to poorlies and those with worries. Have a good Monday folks.

Feeling so rough but had an lovely sleep this morning.
Woke up early to see the mr off to work & to help him get ready as he woke up late and started to fluster.
Today I will be trying to do little bits of tidying around the house.
I'll be putting the w/m on and change the bed (forgot yesterday)
Hoping i can have a nap somewhere in the day.
the weather looks pretty bleak & wet outside again today.
Hope you feel better soon,snoozer
and everyone else0 -
Had a much better night's sleep and woke up to the postlady knocking on the front door to deliver a couple of parcels.
Have been eating better for the last week and stepped hopefully on the bathroom scales to find they only display a weight for a second and then go blank  Have ordered new scales on sale with good reviews and free postage as the other ones are annoying me.
No snow here but decided to have a quiet day doing a bit of tidying, making home made soup and finishing off flattening boxes etc.
I thought the snow would be worse than it turned out so have a grocery delivery tomorrow which means I don't have to go out unless I actually want to.

Take care of yourself and stay warm with hot drinks.

The quilt sounds lovely. If you don't feel well then please make sure you rest and don't try to do too much.

Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.
Lovely bright morning but Brrrrrrr outside.
Towels washed and dried, coloured load in just now. Its not drying outside the slabs are still damp, so it will go in the dryer.
OH still in bed, getting up for lunch, will then go back for his siesta, he was up till 10pm last night. He seems to be just a little better, he did have a sight dizzy yesterday, put his chair back and was ok within about 10 minutes.
I had an awful night was still awake at 4am. hope I sleep better tonight.
The lamb yesterday was delicious, I am about to cut more off the bone for supper tonight, might do another roast dinner but with cabbage rather than cauliflower. The last of the fruit jelly to eat up. Will put some soup mix in to soak, will make stock for soup in the pressure cooker, have some manky carrots to use up.
I have taken some ham out of the freezer for lunch, a couple of slices are quite low in salt for OH.0 -
Good morning everyone and Oh dear, as snoozer says so many folk are struggling at the moment ,either with ill health or sad,or bad families. I think January should be written out of the calender it seems to me to be a rotten month.
My eldest DD has gone back to work with her cold, even thought she had last week off and the Dr gave her anti bios for her chest infection ,silly woman she's asking for trouble,I hope it doesn't worsen.
Her Dd (my DGD Holly ) has been sent home from her work at school as she has now gone down with this dreadful cold bug as well. She is awaiting at their Drs to see him.I saw her on Saturday night, and she looked awful so another victim of this winters virus that seems to be sweeping through the land.
Outside at the moment although cold the sun is shining brightly and it looks a nice crisp day, so I may take myself down to the park for a walk this morning to blow the cobwebs away, a bit of fresh air, if wrapped up warm will be good. I can pop into the libary on my way and return some books as well.
Veggie pasta bake for dinner tonight that I retrieved from my freezer and some rice pud from the weekend for dessert. Lunch will be some more of the Leek and tattle soup I made on Saturday so my menu is sorted for today at least.
I finished my baby blanket for the charity, and will start on a new one this afternoon as I have a pile of squares that a lady dropped off for me to stitch together, then I knit a border all around
Keep warm and wrapped up chums if you are venturing out
Cheers JackieO xx0 -
Morning all,
Had a really lazy morning so far, I need it after a seven day shift I am always shattered and need a rest day to get over it.
I have a towel load in the wm its not actually raining today but everything is so wet I wont bother hanging it out will drape it on the airer in the lounge and when we light the fire later it should dry overnight.
Going to have a wizz round this morning and have a quick tidy, OH did it yesterday so its not too bad will then have a rest and a film this afternoon, and take little madam up to the park at four, a lot of her dog friends go up there around that time and they have a lovely run around and wear themselves out, its so nice to see them all running and playing.
TA I would also stay in your house and have adaptions done to make it easier, if you get in touch with your local council or your DR they should be able to refer you to a physio to come and assess your home, by the way I have told OH I am not decorating anymore and we need to get someone in next time, I don't mind doing it but it takes up all of your time especially when you are working full time so I would rather pay someone to do the job !!
Not sure about dinner tonight but I will go and rummage in the freezer after this.
Camelot I am so glad you have seen your son hopefully you will get to see the grand children soon xx
Hugs for Rosie dog xx
Have good days all xx0
