Can you reuse a SIM -only deal by porting a second number to it?

I've been paying for a relative's first phone SIM for many years. I have now found a better SIM-only contract and bought her what we'll call the 2nd SIM card. My DD is porting the number over.

I've now found an even better SIM-only deal for her needs with another provider. It'll be a 3rd SIM. She can port her number to the new deal.

Her existing 2nd SIM would be perfect for me. It's on a deal you can't get any more.

But is there any way I can port my number to her SIM so I can use that deal, since if she ports her number that SIM will presumably have no number assigned to it, and if I put it in my phone, it’ll have no number? I'd still be paying the bill the same way.

Can’t be done, as soon as you port a number it automatically cancels the line.

As above, once a numbers ported out the account is closed. That's the way the system is, there is no way around it.
