Well as all FOS decisions are public and available to be read on their website I'm sure the poster will be able to give us a link to the specific one so we can all read the story......
Here is the general link to searchable FOS decisions database.

There are a lot there! Even a search for just over a year ago with natwest and passport as keywords brings up loads.

But this one seems to fit - it happened to be second on the listing I got and I didn't look at the rest so there may be other possible matches and this is just coincidental!

Look, a bank's job is to keep their clients' money safe. If you let an account go dormant then it's liable to be closed and the funds placed in a holding account, per the terms and conditions. In that case there are procedures to prove who you are in order to get the funds released. If you want results, play by the bank's rules as they are very, very unlikely to bypass their established procedures simply because a customer kicks up an irrational, over-emotional fuss and starts bandying around potentially libellous terms. That kind of tantrum is probably the surest way for frontline staff to decide that you're a verbally abusive crank and to palm you off to some dormancy department that only corresponds through writing. As with many things in life, you can do it the easy way or the hard way, your choice!

Here on MSE, we ask we give all newbies the time of day and be nice and courteous to them.

I need to point out as much as we try to do this we also expect the same treatment back.

You have been incredibly rude to posters who have offered you advice and support as this is why you posted on here in the first place right?

Please consider those posters who have been around this forum for a lot longer then you that are only trying to help.

In relation to your post, as I understand Natwest didn't have the correct address details for you, and they wrote to you at the last known address to say that your account was being closed. Whomever lives at this address has either put the post back in the post box or notified Natwest you don't live at the address any more.

Natwest have put a note on your account to say you need to confirm your address and indenity before your account is active again.

You are unable or unwilling to provide this information for them to release your account and any funds that are in the account.

Natwest havent stolen your money they are protecting it as you havent kept your address up to date.

Soon as you provide the ID verified as requested then your account will be activated again. If you don't follow their guidelines and rules regarding verification then your account will remained locked.

Im not sure what else you require from MSE forum members other then to reiterate that your only option is to comply with their rules.
