Early exit

Hi my son is currently with ee, he has 8 months left on his contract, he pays £82 a month (lots of data) he has recently moved and the ee signal is dismal. If he wishes to leave to go onto another network, would him reducing his tariff beforehand make the balance for leaving early less? I realise he is still paying for the phone.

Many thanks Alison

Shouldn't the question be CAN he reduce his tariff. Since the answer is likely to be "No" the question you've asked wouldn't apply.
  • Oh, I didn't think of that, but his original contract was less, he increased the data after getting large bills, would this mean he still wouldn't be able to reduce it?

In that case, maybe. The people to really ask are the Network.
  • Not likely.

Changing the data is in effect a change of tariff.

Which means cancelling the current contract, paying the charges, and then taking a new contract
