Claim Form from UK Car Park Management Limited

My daughter has received a claim from Money Claim Online she also has another outstanding ticket from them. I am wondering whether we should submit a defense and run the risk of losing or should we just pay. I would be very grateful for any advice.

My daughter is a care worker looking after people in their own homes. One of her clients lives in a housing development where they have Parking Permits and the car park is managed by UKCPM. At the time of the tickets her client did not have a permit, however my daughter’s car has a West Sussex Parking Permit clearly on display and the car park staff are fully aware that she is a carer looking after a vulnerable person. Her client now has a permit but there is still an issue when the District Nurse and the carer are both visiting at the same time as there is only 1 permit.

Unfortunately, she chose to ignore the letters, mistakenly believing that the charges could be enforced, what can we do?

Everyone is politely asked to read up on this in the newbies faq thread before starting a thread

Court claims and defending are covered there as well as how to appeal initially to the parking company (for her second ticket)

    As above .........

you really need to read through the newbies thread

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4816822

specifically the section on defending court claims .....

acknowledging the claim correctly will give you time to read through the newbies thread properly ... and get more advice ...

please let your daughter know that ignoring any more will result in a CCJ aginst her!

whilst doing this contact the housing association and ask them to overturn this .... or they may be called to give evidence ..... and you will take it to the papers ...

    good luck

  • Thanks, I have read the Newbies thread but there is nothing there covering the circumstances I have described.

did you read the newbies thread I linked to ?

because if you did you must have missed post #2

    ;)

the details of the case come later ... you have to start / acknowledge the claim !
if there is a second invoice on the way then deal with that as per the newbies thread

Contact the Managing Agents at the site and ask who hired UKCPM there. Some UKCPM contracts have the explicit instruction on who not to ticket. So see if you can find out if UKCPM are expected to ticket everyone without a permit or only specific groups.**

Your client should be able to give you details on the site's Managing Agents.

That's the second thing you do. The first is to Acknowledge the claim using the details on the form.

** You may only see this detail 14 days prior to any hearing so best chase it down first rather than wait 6 months until a hearing

    As above really, Lorna

The NEWBIES thread absolutely contains every bit of info needed. You just need to actually read it, incuding links, and not skim it.
  • I have acknowledged the claim online and have been given 28 days to respond. Nowhere in the newbies thread are circumstances like these covered, I came on here to hopefully find out if we had any defense not to be told off, my mistake, i will seek help elsewhere

Did you skim over the bit that told you to NOT look for the same or similar circumstances?

    I'm assuming so.

    I'm assuming so.

I was just hoping to get some help on compiling a defence for this particular situation
