Early exit fee Talk mobile

I tried to cancel my contract which is a rolling 30 days contract with talk mobile and they have told me I will have to pay a early exit fee.

The current payment takes my contract to 24th of February so i can not cancel until the 24th of January but if i call on the 23rd I will get a charge but if I call on the 24th I will have to pay for an additional month taking my contract to March but not pay a exit free

Has anyone successfully cancelled with them with out having to pay a early exit fee or take out a extra month that is not needed.

it seems that 30 days notice means I have to take another month contract but 31 days notice means I have an early exit fee.
