Tesco mobile PAYG users - can you help?

Hi
I've been on tesco PAYG for over a year now and have been really happy with it apart from 2 things, which are really starting to bug me and I'm hoping someone might be able to help:
1. On the voicemail, is there a way to find out when a message was left? It doesn't automatically tell you day or time it was left which can be a pain.
2. The most annoying thing in the world - and I'd like to find out if its just my phone model rather than the service in general. Every time I send a text or make a call, basically do anything that changes my balance, I get a message telling me my new PAYG balance. It looks like a text (though with a different alert sound) but it appears unbidden and then I have to clear it. If I forget to clear it, my phone won't receive any texts or calls!!! I've had it happen a couple of times when I'll send a text in the morning, and then check my phone on my way home from work, to find I didn't clear the screen, and when I clear it I get a rash of texts, missed calls and voicemail messages that have accumulated over the day.
I have a K750i - if you have a different phone on tesco PAYG, do you have this problem too? (I'm nearly needing a new phone). Can I turn off the service messages? I did ring CS once but they didn't seem to know what I meant.
Thanks so much if you are able to help (or just comiserate with me)!!

I'm on TescoMobile but have switched off the voicemail service so can't advise on that.
I can confirm that the text message balance is a "feature" of the service and I believe it originates from the O2 network that Tesco uses. I think I read elsewhere (digitalspy forums probably) that someone had got O2 to disable it on their number, but I don't know if Tesco could do the same.
Sorry if that isn't much help, but at least you know you are not alone.0 -
few yrs ago i had the same annoying noise after sending txts.rang 02 CS and EVENTUALLY got to speak to somebody who knew about the problem and he sorted it.0

If you call Tesco Mobile Customer Service and ask them to switch the text message balance alert off, they will do so.0

Yes, call Tesco or email them, and they will switch off the balance message.
As for the voicemail, i've changed notification to the 'spool' symbol, as i find this means you know you've got voicemail just by looking instead of it calling you or sending a text message. But I thought it did tell you the time/date of each message when you called. This is a system account and does not represent a real person.
