New phone contract v sim only with a huawei P9

Hi

I have a Huawei P9 which I like, its nearly 2 years olden Im coming to the end of my contract, Im a mid 50s person who doesn't use it anywhere near its potential.

I can get a sim only deal from Plusnet for about £10.00per month, orI have been offered a Samsung A3 or A5 for under £20.00 per month

I tried to look at the reviews but they mostly say that the phones are great

Does anyone know hw they compare, The camera on my P9 is very good, but my photography isn't

If you like you current phone, just keep it and go for the sim only deal. Why pay more just to get a new phone as part of your contract when you are happy with the phone you have?

This - but make sure your phone is unlocked by your current provider before you give notice.

Thank you for all the replies, I do like the look of the A5, thank you Custardy for the comparison thing, but I think I will try a sim card from Plusnet for a while, I can always get a phone in a few months if Im tempted again

The P9 is an amazing phone. Far better than any of the lower range Samsungs (IMHO).

The camera on the P9 is also incredible.

We have always been “SIM only”, not only are the contracts for a shorter duration, giving greater flexibility, but it’s usually cheaper to purchase a phone separately.

Don’t be one of those who boast “I’m due an upgrade” :rotfl:
