Mmm... I heard at the beginning of the month that Virgin Money would be sending letters to notify a rate increase to 2.5% for the earlier issues of the branch regular savers.
Hope the letters arrive by 1 Sep, when the rate is supposed to go up...

OK, I received email notices about the increase for:
    Regular E-Saver Issue 7, 10, 11 & 12, but not 8 or 9???

  • Hi Folks,

    Here is this weekend's update.

    - Monmouthshire BS Regular Saver Bond updated to show it is available to applicants in England and Wales (previously only available to people from within a limited range of local postcodes)

    - Mansfield BS Young Regular Saver updated as issue 1 replaced with issue 2 allowing £250 per month (was £500 with issue 1) and no free piggy bank now

    - Dudley BS Junior Regular Saver withdrawn and removed the list on page 1 (was replaced with a Young Regular Saver account with an interest rate that is too low to qualify for inclusion in my list)

    - Dudley BS One Year Regular Saver (Issue 4) withdrawn and removed the list on page 1 (was replaced with a Society Anniversary Saver account with an interest rate that is too low to qualify for inclusion in my list)

    - Chorley BS Regular Saver and Members Regular Saver accounts withdrawn and removed from the list on page 1

I will do another update the weekend after next. I am expecting at that point that interest rate increases to variable accounts will have filtered through. I share some other people's surprise that Virgin have increased the interest rate on fixed rate accounts and I like how other forum users are enjoying the unexpected rate increase!

Opened late 2016. Think I will give it a go closing it then reopening new a/c. No withdrawals made so far

    Looking here:

    https://mansfieldbs.co.uk/savings/regular-savings-4th-issue

I wonder how others / Mansfield interpret this bit:

Limited to 1 Regular Savings (4th issue) account per customer.

Does this mean one EVER or one at the same time

I applied online on the Tuesday 14th August, application came in post on the Friday 17th, sent signed application back with chq on the 17th and registered for online banking. Monday 20th received online activation code plus user ID, logged in and can see that processed chq.

Very efficient compared to other companies.

Applied Tuesday 14th August for my wife, application form received today (29/8)

Will post it back today and hopefully, they will process it before the end of the month.
