Si only deal but must not allow more data

Hi

I'm after a SIM only deal for my son , he is with BT at the moment, but I want one that once the monthly allowance is reached does not allow him to use and thus be charged for more. His present one allows him to use more to a max of £5 per month on top and obviously he always does so its costing an extra £60 pa. i don't want to go for just a bigger data plan cos he will ALWAYS use more , so jjust a plan that once your allowance is used thats it . Anyone seen any SIM only deals like this?

Any EE plan has a fixed data allowance.

Get a pay as you go bundle, not a contract. So when the bundle runs out you can still do free things (like receive calls and texts) but nothing else.

Not sure if this helps, Plusnet allow you to place a cap of £2.

EE has been mentioned above and once you've reached your data limit it's turned off until the next billing cycle or you purchase more data.

Haven't been an EE customer for some time but it was possible to add further data on a landing page within the phone's browser (some three-four years ago) so am unsure if this still the case but worth mentioning OP.

Hi tabath On any EE sim only plan you can’t go over your data allowance. We’ll text you when you’ve used 80% and then again when it runs out. If you've already run out of data, we'll direct you to our add-ons webpage next time you try to browse but this can be disabled on your account to stop the user of that device being able to add any more data Thanks Sam
