Often it's down to the driver and how helpful they are feeling. Strictly speaking most builders' merchants generally 'deliver to the kerbside' and it's they the recipients problem to get the stuff to its final location. I ordered 2 doors and expected to have to carry them myself. The driver actually off loaded and carried them to where they need to be.
In the case of the radiator it would be worth speaking to the supplier and ask if they can put it into the hallway for you, assuming it's groundfloor.

If you produce a nice neatly folded tenner the delivery driver may well discover they're able to carry the radiator into the hallway.

Which online retailer is this? I have used onlinecarpets now for a couple of deliveries, and having my third tomorrow and they all took the carpets inside for me and expecting the same tomorrow. Their policy states kerbside, but I think it is at the prerogative of the delivery driver and if you ask nicely etc.

I have a similar problem with ordering a replacement radiator. I’m 5’2”, there’s no way I can move it on my own, and my plumber isn’t going to hang around waiting for a delivery when there’s no guarantee that it will arrive at a set time.

Then pay your plumber to supply and fit. They'll go collect a radiator from Screwfix or similar, and will clearly be able to handle the radiator that they're then going to fit.

Really not an issue is it?

Also re: kerbside deliveries, particularly builders merchants. Use a local company and ask them if they can help you do what you want. When I've had local builders merchants delivery, the T&Cs always say kerbside, but they've been quite happy to help get the materials down the drive and through to the back garden.

Now, going up a couple of floors or similar is a bit more hassle for them, but if you ask them in advance if they'd do it for an extra fee, I don't see why they'd have a problem. Just don't expect a chain to offer that kind of service.
