Grocery delivery arrived this morning with cans of soup, soft drinks and cold cures etc. I got everything unpacked and managed to finish all the laundry and got it tumble dried.

Dishwasher has been loaded and there are just a few more things to be put in there once it has been emptied. I managed to replace a lot of hangers in my wardrobe by skinny velvet ones which makes it less cluttered. More of the special hangers arrive this afternoon so will do some more swapping around and put the old hangers in a box to go to a charity shop.

I still have lots of big cardboard boxes in the integral garage which need to be flattened and recycled which will give me more space and make it easier to move round and find things. There is elderberry extract in bottles there which could be useful if I catch the virus going around which I hope that I won't.

I had not realised that your DD could be coming home so soon. Hope there is a good plan in place for you all.

I don't want to sound flippant but your Mums are making me feel like a right ray of sunshine by comparison. ;)

Make sure that you rest and that you don't get dehydrated.

It tried to snow earlier but does not seem to be settling.

    Hugs to all.

    Afternoon all
Woke up with a headache again, should have known that snow was in the air and we have been having flurries on and off. The sky now looks full of it. Mr Fix It was happy as he wanted to try out the car in the snow, it's another 4x4 so would be fine. ( boys and their toys eh :rotfl:)
I noticed this morning that someone had put their bag in my rubbish bin again. What's really annoying is that I recycle everything that I can and whoever it was, just doesn't bother..
Anyway we have been busy this morning sorting out prescriptions, collecting mine and dropping Mr Fix It's off ( different surgeries ). Decided to go over the mountain road to F Foods to stock up on toilet rolls as they are on offer and stopped in As*a for a coffee. We were going to leave it till tomorrow but the forecast is for high winds and heavy rain.
Brought the bins in and I'm going to clean down the kitchen and fill the DW this afternoon, then cook tea. Well "popty ping" a lasagne and have it with a baguette :rotfl:. To be honest I don't feel like cooking because I still have this headache :(.
Hope everyone is having a good day.
Karcher wrap yourself up warm and take care. Hope it's not that 8 week flu .
Snoozer Keep Mr S occupied at all times :rotfl:. I've trained Mr Fix It to pay and pack the shopping bags, well after a fashion. At least he knows not to squash the bread now :D.
AOD Hope you feel better soon. Hugs
Tiredmum I'm a bit of a nightmare where eating out is involved too, can't have anything with a sauce, don't like meat unless it's chicken, prefer not to have chips etc.... so your Mum is not alone :o.
Sending healing vibes to all the poorlies and hugs to all.

cranky40 thanks for the recipe I have pm'd you :) looks really good and easy to do

    Cheers JackieO xx
  • Thanks CRANKY, mmm I can taste it already!!

DD rang at lunchtime to say her op had been done (after 1000 questions!!) and free to go. It was done under a local so fine to drive home. She has DGD to take to the Alhambra tonight and as she is chaperone she has a couple more girls to pick up and bring home too. I am worrying about the weather, it has been snowing on and off all day. Just long enough between the snow showers for it to clear on the roads so I am hoping there won't be a longer snowfall leaving them all stuck at the Theatre overnight. (That wouldn't be so bad if they kept the restaurant and bar open all night!)

I have had a very (very, very!) lazy day and not achieved much at all. Blaming it on the weather! I must get myself more motivated tomorrow.

Have a good rest of the day folks and I hope those nursing the flu, colds or dreaded 8 week virus are feeling a little better. Take care all xx

Ive got a craving... apple pie. No custard, just apple pie.

House blitzed from top to bottom. Need to do the stairs properly but that can wait till tomorrow. So much laundry!

I'd be annoyed too. Each week my wheelie bin is full to overflowing I don't have any room for anyone elses. I'm still chucking stuff out, much to Grumps annoyance.... Still haven't managed to get him to part with the clock yet but I will. I have a plan.

nannywindow, shopping took twice as long as normal. He had to look at all the non-food items in the middle (I usually just give them a passing glance) and then scan all the stuff and hand it me for packing. Shouldn't complain as he's very useful as a pack mule and I'd taken a list which was adhered to, usually he spots something he fancies and planks it in the trolley.

We went out for a walk this afternoon because it was so lovely, although cold, my sinuses are making my teeth ache now.
