Help! Not enough money for living

Hi, I am sorry if I am posting in the wrong place.
My mother-in-law is not getting enough from job seekers allowance to live. She is getting £20 per month which is outrageous! She has 2 kids (both over 21) who still live with her who are also on job seekers allowance. One doesnt get paid again for 20 days, the other is at the start of the claim! So £20 is literally the only income she has this month and the future months!
She is going down there tomorrow but just in case they can't do anything, what can she do?
She won't accept any money from me or from anyone else!
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you,

Why is she only getting £20 a month?0

Are you sure it's not universal credit rather than JSA? Is this a new claim, and what other income and savings/ assets does she have?0

yeah sorry universal credit.
she is only getting £20 because of some charges, i dont know exactly. The process from going from job seekers to universal credit is a nightmare!
One helps out with electric when he can but he doesnt get paid until next month. the other is still within the claim to get universal credit.0 -
she has no other income this is it, no savings either. which is why everyone is so worried.0

What charges? We can't help with half a story. Could you come back to us when you are with her?
Why is she going from JSA to UC? That would normally only happen with a change of circumstances.0 -
Nobody only gets £20 a month.
So until you actually get the correct figures and what these ‘charges’ are then there’s no point in this thread. No more than me saying I get 50p a week and the job Centre makes me walk over hot coals for it.0 -

If one of the adults doesn't get paid for another 20 days, that would appear to suggest they've blown a month's money in a week. Is that the case or are they looking for reasons not to give any to MIL?All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -

My mother-in-law is not getting enough from job seekers allowance to live. She is getting £20 per month which is outrageous! - Well I doubt it's £20 per month, given that JSA is a set amount per week. She has 2 kids (both over 21) - so she has two adults living there, who should pay towards their keep? who still live with her who are also on job seekers allowance. One doesnt get paid again for 20 days - sanction? , the other is at the start of the claim! So £20 is literally the only income she has this month and the future months!
She is going down there tomorrow but just in case they can't do anything, what can she do? - Has she been looking for work? Updating her CV? Feet on the ground and handing it out left right and centre?
She won't accept any money from me or from anyone else! - Well she will from me, and bob and the other 30 odd mil employed people.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you,
I suggest she and her children update their CV, look at free courses at local colleges and take up any work they can. Often finding the job you want is easier when you apply with a job, any job, already.0
