Keswick in the Lake District. My hubby and I have been a few times to the same guest house and never tire of it. We once went in February and got snowed in, it was fantastic. Keswick has nice walks around Lake Derwent, beautiful scenery, and good pubs and restaurants for the evening.

streethead farm inn in yorkshire - great food and nice countryside
forbidden corner nice day out but you have to book in advance
  • brilliant thankyou, some of the guest houses look like peoples houses if you get what i mean, i just want to be staying with a load of old folk considering we are 21 and 24 but we dont want it too lively. I think with some guest houses its like the old lady is listening at the bedroom door to see what you get up to lol. :)

The Coppleridge Inn near Shaftesbury in Dorset is nice. A short drive from Shaftesbury and other interesting places and in the countryside for walks. It also sells good food, beer and wine. It has a skittle alley too. All the rooms are in the old farm buildings and are really comfy. Have been there myself quite a few times.

In fact most of Dorset is pretty good.

If you get stuck try tripadvisor.com for hotel reviews, a very useful site and latrerooms.com for last minute room bookings, best of luck!ps. why not try somewhere by the sea, I know it's cold but still lovely to walk on the beach
