Wow, Slinky, congratulations! Hope the move goes smoothly - have you got more kondoing to do between then and now?

Remainder of kitchen units gone to the CS! Just attacking the paper mountain and my shredder has gone kaput - it was from a freecycler so doesnt owe me anything. I'll see if aqnyone else has one before I buy a new one ;)

Eta: Slinky - my neighbour has had a humungous (sp) crop of strawberries this year - huge ones that he's kindly shared with us all. I shall be pinching some runners from him as mine are pitiful ;)

Yes more kondoing to be done. Got some stuff on Facebook for sale. My goodness people can be cheeky. I have priced stuff incredibly cheap because I just need it to go, and I'm getting people trying to knock me down. A blanket box which cost in the region of £100 I put on for £10, somebody pleaded with me to sell it for £7, then £8. By the time he got to £10 I wouldn't have sold it to him anyway.

Loft needs to be tackled this weekend. Looks like being a very hot one. That's not going to be any fun. Nor is the fact we haven't exchanged yet either. We were aiming for yesterday, won't be until Tuesday at the earliest. The clock is ticking very loudly now. I've paid for our removal this afternoon.

Regarding strawberries, the crop this year are coming off a raised bed that has been very well manured the past few winters. I'm sure that's making a difference as the previous years the plants were getting old and woody, and we haven't been able to manure that box.

Contents of the loft have been emptied. There's stuff everywhere, but we have managed to take a car full to the tip, plus identified a few small things for the charity shop. I have had a fairly good clearout over the past few years, it was much worse at one point.

One success was I found a travel guide for a place we are visiting later this year. It had been on the missing list, but I did know we had a box with some travel stuff in it in the loft and had hoped it was with that, and so it turned out to be. Will put it in our 'holiday drawer' so we don't mislay it again after the move.

There's a pile of OH's junk come out the loft, but he's not in a place mentally to part with some of it, so I'm just going to let it lie for a while. It's a case of picking my battles at the right time, and now isn't it.

On the plus side, some items to the charity shop, 4 big bags of recycling to the tip.

On the downside, still no exchange on the house. I can hear that clock ticking ever louder. The purchaser has a mortgage and a remortgage involved, their solicitor hasn't tied the two together yet apparently. We're getting one story from our solicitor and a different one from the purchaser via the EA........

Fingers crossed tomorrow brings some progress.

Slinky - keeping fingers crossed for the move. So many people having issues with Solicitors and EA's :(
Made huge inroads into the paper mountain and the room of doom is looking somehwat tidier. I do need to do quite a lot more though but with all the kitchen and dining room stuff in boxes and trugs all over the place my motivation is a bit sporadic at the moment and the garden is producing like mad so I'm playing Tetris in the freezer.

:D Have spent an extended weekend with the folks at the parental homestead and approx 5 hours' worth of sorting of Mum's clothes has been done.

This has resulted in 3 large bags of clothes waiting charity shop donation, the re-organisation of the remaining and much pleasure at realising that certain things do not need to be re-purchased and that other things are now being worn. All in all, very successful.

Dad's wardrobe spat up a box containing shoes, including a pair of walking shoes whose vibram-type shoes had rotted spectacularly, shedding sticky black composite material every which way. The only blessing was that the mess was contained in the box - yuck.

Sone badly OOD map books have been sent to recycling, as well as ancient tourist guides to Forn Parts.

Hope you've had some progress on your exchange Slinky, we're due to exchange on Friday, I'm not holding my breath though.

Another mixed bag of books, a puzzle and a few tops dropped off to the CS on Monday (and I did pick up a lovely floppy hat I can wear for gardening for a whole £1.25, but it was a need so I'm happy).

I'm 90% packed, it's quite liberating only having a few bits useable, so easy to keep the house and kitchen clean (if a bit restricting when cooking, a few last minute menu changes have been made when I've realised I've packed the steamer/frying pan/decent sized baking sheets)

Well we're still waiting to exchange, but our purchasers came round today so we could show them how things work in the house. This was the first time we had met them, but they assured us they had been on the phone all day to their solicitors and mortgage people (2 of each) and that the main solicitor should have the confirmation they require in writing of the remortgage tomorrow, so hopefully we will be exchanging tomorrow. They are itching to get into our house as they have people wanting to rent theirs a week later. They seem nice people and it's stopped my OH worrying that they would try and do a last minute dropped offer price.

I had another trip to the tip this morning, included in it were 3 text books from my OH's degree course 40 years ago. He kept about 6 others and 2 folders of his work, but I pursuaded him to put these into a storage box so at least they are all together. A tiny amount of progress. It'll all go into the loft at the new house never to be read.

I can at least look in the garage and view 10 empty plastic crates, all of which were previously in the loft with 'stuff' in them. And a lot of boxes of stuff have also gone, and I really can't tell you much about most of it.
