Been thinking about The Good Wool Jacket, which I paid £110.00 for in 1996 and have worn....... less than ten times. Just had the revelation that the last time I wore it was to a baptism up at the cathedral and the tot whose ceremony it was has now gone to uni !!
I shall set a reminder in my diary for October and donate it and some other winter-appropriate items to the charity shop then.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Took some pictures and ornaments to the charity shop this morning. Spotted one of the pictures in their window this afternoon at just £3. Oh dear, hope it sells. Something is better than nothing I suppose.Make £2024 in 2024

Some reverse kondoing yesterday, some nice man on free cycle was offering 5 water butts, we popped along to rehome one but he asked if we'd take all 5 so would have been daft to refuse. 3 destined for the allotment and 2 for our new garden. Will give them a quick swill out and check for leaks before they go to the plot.
3 books ready to drop at the village hall this morning and one large piece of furniture broken up for the wood which was collected yesterday.
2 reduced butternut squash plants picked up from the garden centre have had a big drink and will head plotwards this afternoon to fill the gap where the broadbeans have just finished."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
We have a small amount of lego, but dds never enjoyed playing with it; they are more into playmobil. DD2 is going to a friend's house tomorrow, and this friend is obsessed by lego, so he will receive our bricks and the small lego shaped bucket they are stored in.
We are going on vacation on Friday, so I have told my housemates that we will eat whatever is in the house already, we are not going to buy new food.
The trip is rather roundabout: on Friday 4 hours North to my parents', on Saturday 1 hour East for a birthday party at an open air museum, 1 hour further East for the picknick, 1 hour back West, on Sunday 9 hours South East to Munich where we stay 2 nights, then 2 hours further South to Austria where we stay put for 10 days. I am so looking forward to the mountains and hiking! It's been 15 years and I really miss the air, the views, the tranquility, the reliance on my own body. Husband and dds have never seen a real mountain, and I cannot wait to introduce themAre you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.590 -
Forgot about this: dd1 had her sleepover birthday party last Friday, and I took the opportunity to get rid of candy my dds don't like, both as part of the candy cake (small cake decirated with candy) and in the goodiebags. I threw away 9 party trumpets (the cardboard ones, with a noisemaker as mouthpiece, which make a deafening noise), I used up the party hats and the novelty paper napkins and fancy straws/drinks decorations. We had pizza (from frozen) for dinner, with some healthy nibbles and candy cake for dessert; crisps and popcorn for snacks, watched Penelope (50 cents from library sale). Breakfast was pain au chocolat, croissants and pistolets from frozen / prebaked. Total cost around €35 / £30 for 8 girls. Are you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.590

I had half a bin liner to fill, so I did a tour of house and garden: many 'crafts', broken toys, toys that annoy me, broken necklaces that I was planning to rethread, a discoloured skippy ball. All gone!
I dyed a Laura Ashley dress that I bought at a charity shop for £3.50. The thread that holds the pieces of the garment together have shrunk! Ragbag it is.Are you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.590 -
