KonMari 2018 - The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up

Don't know if it's the hot weather or sods law at play. My old monitor off my older computer squeeked as it died earlier. Not as old as yours GQ, was a 14inch flat screen. Has served me well but a new one needs to be sourced. Temporarily shifted the newer screen onto the old machine so I could do some work, and now the only screen is back with its original partner. Have found something I think may do the job and emailed the link to OH so he can take a view whether it's the right thing to buy. Will have to manage with just one puter through the week as I daren't risk dropping the screen whilst moving it, we've already established it's a 2 person job to get the cables in on our remaining screen. OH works away in the week.
Sods law that it happens today, yesterday we went to the tip for the first time in about 3-4 months and shifted a lot of stuff along. Had a nice clear space in the garage which the old monitor will be moving into for a while.Make £2025 in 2025

Sorry to hear that, Slinky. Just been speaking to Kid Bruv and his TV/ DVD combo has just died today, must be something in the water/ atmosphere/ alignment of the planets.
I am beyond shattered. Have a rare medical condition which makes me especially suspectible to stresss, and matters of the techy nature are grade A stressors. Haven't installed Office 365 as cannot trust myself to do any more Stuff today, will leave that for tomorrow or the next day, ditto using the printer for the first time.
Am not 100% satisfied with my choice of printer, was having misgivings about it even before it arrived. If I cannot get on with it, I shall return it under the 14 day returns policy.
Righty-0, just off for some wandering in the interwebulator to catch up on what I've been missing. Hope everyone has a good evening. GQ xEvery increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Thanks for the suggestion Floss, but the connectors from the puter aren't right for the TVs we have.Make £2025 in 2025

Forgot to mention I got my eternity ring at the weekend. The jewellers have made a fantastic job fitting it to my shaped wedding ring. My engagement ring was resized also so they've all had a good clean and polish and are sparkling much joy.Make £2025 in 2025

Kondod a few more courgettes from the allotment this morning, they're coming thick and fast now. Had some really lovely compliments about our plot from other people too which was nice to hear."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0

open office is free and an excellent alternative to office. I got a cheap ebay office programme and managed to get that installed. I use thunderbird for e mails and I too hated changing from windows 7 to 10 with a new laptop, was a bleeping nightmare
Photographer will be booked today and will be 2 weeks, so I cleared a few more big things out of sight, not found anything else to kondo and am grateful for large dry shed and garage and 3 shopping trolleys. I will do the main unused bathroom and leave it neat. The big sparkle clean next week and a few flowers the day before the photos, maybe african violets and those orchids you can buy everywhere for the two bathrooms
Then I can relax for a while, although solicitor is flipping fantastic, she worked on my buying file at the weekend and answers every single question I ask her, looking in depth at some things like vacant possession, loans secured on the property and septic tank and easement0 -
Finished, honestly, have moved everything away for photographs. Oh kondo I love you. Nothing has had to go out, nothing
Should I hire a one session cleaner? Mmm not sure, I have managed well so far and any stranger would love the house as it is. Maybe I will be sensible and do a room a day0 -
I wouldn't bother - it's not going to show up in the photos. (I am always amazed at the houses where people haven't bothered to tidy up before the photographer came. I don't just mean where there's lots of stuff, I mean clothes all over the bed, washing on radiators and so on). Your house sounds as if it's immaculate already.
Well done, the Kondoing really paid off for you!Life is mainly froth and bubble: two things stand like stone. Kindness in another’s trouble, courage in your own.0 -
naturally, this new house of mine occupies a good part of my mind, like what furniture to put where. 4 bedrooms to 3 and they have lumps and bumps like chimney bumps and big radiators.
Its awful hard to try and get processes into the right order and to get it right anyway, no-one to bounce very practical ideas off. Ideas are very welcome. I want to get work done that would affect flooring, so I can get new flooring before furniture comes in. I was thinking of smart new click flooring downstairs and sisal, like here, upstairs and stairs but am having second thoughts about sisal or any carpet upstairs because of moths, old house and bound to have moths. Wood floors are out because of cost and maintenance
Order of gutting, someone will project manage for me: all fitted (grotty or very fancy) bedroom furniture out, carpets everywhere out, extra electric sockets in, new modern radiators in. Holes filled and painting. Click floors in, all apart from stairs and kitchen for now. Does it sound ok? When would I get a gas cooker removed? It has to move all through the house and could mark the floor I can get and use mini cooking stuff. I will be getting similar to here eventually ie induction and high ovens. Boiler will be moved in a year or so, will be a powerful combi
I only realised last night that there is no airing cupboard ie no linen/pillow storage. Ok kondo has again helped massively and my cupboard on the landing is not too full but is a very useful space. Ideas again welcome. The landing is large, what if I get a tall vertical radiator and get a cupboard built on the same wall as the radiator, all to the right of the bannister? I have a chest of drawers that could go there but have to think ahead and that heavy chest would have to be moved to the garage and it is heavy
Which bed should I keep? one 2`6 electric adjustable bed or one taller 3` JL pine bed with space underneath. I have 3 aerobeds. Beds are only used for visitors. I have to kondo ahead for this0
