That's odd GQ, ours insist that paper shreddings need to be put out in cardboard boxes that you've written 'Shredded Paper' on, otherwise they just get blown around the recycling centre.
Ours insist that shreddings are put into paper bags or old envelopes, so we jealously hoard any paper carrier bags we're given. As for "old envelopes", surely those would have arrived at your address with your name and address on them, so they would have holes in them where you've cut out the bit with your name and address, so the shreddings would leak out......0 -
Our shreddings go alternately into the compost and paper collection bag (usually inside a box!).2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Apart from thing like greetings cards and my union's magazine, I don't get any envelopes with my name and address on, they're all window-style envelopes. Which I hoard for writing notes/ keeping my grocery accounts for the month. Very handy things, old envelopes.*
I have been busy about a Plan which, if it comes to pass, will involve the removal of a Very Large Item (as in several feet long and wide) from Plot2. I have to be a bit secret squirrel as my plots are in main view of a busy road, said item is a trifle unusual, and the council will have to give consent. Don't think it will be a fast resolution but I have put the ball into play and will have to see how it goes. If I can get rid of The Item, it will make a huge improvement to the plot and how it is used.
Other than that, I am continuing to get stuff off that new plot, a process which has stalled this past week due to truly atrocious weather keeping me home in the evenings. Today's looking decent so I plan to be up there tonight and will drag something else out of there.
* On the far side of the planet, a petite Japanese lady gasps in horror as she wakes from sleep, visions of piles of envelopes in her 'followers' homes flashing before her eyes.:rotfl:Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

how is the hip GQ? A lot of us gardeners and heavy shifters are creaky at the moment, mind first and later the matter protests
I have decided to do the lilac tip run today, I am going to have to saw the roots into 8, they are 4 at the moment but I will never manage to lift them over the skip side as a 1/4. Then I will have to sharpen my saw
So far so good re garden and allotment, no more to kondo. Sun is out and if I were in yorkshire, I would be watching tour de yorkshire and soaking up that fantastic atmosphere0 -
With dh in his mother country for a week, I try to get as many 'jobs' done as I can. I have spent a few lovely hours in the garden in the last few days, digging up dandelions, changing the compost in one of the pots, thinning the raspberry canes (I know, I know, about 6 months too late...), and thinking about where to put the mats with butterfly flower seeds (2 pre-seeded mats 30x60cm, 1euro in a1d1). Every day I try to pick out dandelions for 15 minutes, and it's showing nicely.Are you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.590

Good luck!!
I like dandelions, but not in my flower borders! And the girls don't want to pick them until they are white and can be blown
Work is too hectic at the moment, with all sorts of jobs I don't like to do (I don't mind hectic if it's jobs I enjoy)
