    Good luck Knit Witch!

I kondod a carrier bag full of clothes to the CS yesterday, all now far to big for me - yay! But I did have to kondo some savings too as the dishwasher died last night, I know it beyond economical repair and we've had 5 years from it so I can't complain (well I can but it won't get me anywhere).

Been at the allotment for a few hours this morning, I got the shed base dug out, DHs disabilities mean he can't help with manual work but he sat there uttering words of encouragement along the lines of "call that level?", "I can see down your top when you're digging" and "I'm really worn out watching you"....helpful soul. I did prove him wrong when I got the spirit level to the area dug out and I've got a perfect 2 degree drop off. Got a trench dug across half the back of the plot and the start of my pallet fence in too. Was a good few hours work and exercise. Had to get home for a delivery and DH is in bed for a few hours so I'll catch up on housework and get a shopping list written.

pooky you make me feel worn out and it gave me a giggle

I am in throes of spelt flour kondo, 1.5 kg with a packet of levain and a sticky bowlful. It will make 3 large loaves all in the oven at once and that is my bread sorted for rather a long time

    :T Good luck, Knit Witch!

kittie, thanks for asking, the right hip has severe degeneration and I've lost the full thickness of the cartilage around part of the joint.

Still continuing with the complementary technique and am on Day 3 of Flexise q, and have started on liquid glucosmaine & chondroitin and have hit up H& B and got two bottles of hydrolysed collagen, on the penny sale, happily. All of which is aiming to halt the degeneration and mebbe even rebuid the stuff.

Even after a couple of days, I'm feeling some benefits, but only time will tell.

Am too knackered to go allotmenteering tonight (condensed version, major wigging-out of a neighbour kept most of the block awake last night) but have the whole Bank Holiday weekend to look forward to, so am not going to beat myself up over it.

I have library books and a pot of tea, all is well on my planet.;)

Good luck, Knitwitch. Please let us know how you got on at the Tribunal.

Today the hospice furniture guys came and took a desk, chair, stool, side table, wardrobe, two tall Billy bookcases and linking CD tower, and a small chest of drawers, for the hospice shop. They made it look so easy getting them downstairs and into their van. Gone in no time! :j:j

I can now motor on with packing boxes. Hurray! Yesterday I kondo'd a lot of money to the solicitors' account for the flat I'm moving to, and was relieved to hear this morning that it had arrived safely. Unbelievably, the solicitors' account details were sent to me by email.  Of course, I phoned the office to make sure they were kosher, checked over the phone digit by digit.

Moving day is not till Thurs 17th, but I get the keys a week today. I'm so glad I've done so much kondoing in advance, in the opast few months in particular (MK Round 3). It has meant a really good deal on removal costs, as nothing surplus to requirements is getting moved.

Hurrah for the petite young lady in Japan (borrowing your very apt description of her, GQ! Spot on!) :T:T

congratulations on all that kondo wee midgie :D

I would be scared witless by transferring all that money via an e mail. I told my bank about how scared I would be and they said they would do it for me, when the time comes. My friend next door was scammed out of £10k by transferring money to ns&i via e mail, only it was a look-alike not the real ns&i. I am so glad that it is all safe and secure for you WM

Only half a jar of malt extract but it has gone, at last and it took me 5 minutes to make (throw together) two malt loaves. Did it before my tea was cool enough to drink and I also used up 300g of raisins that have been lurking. Food stocks are definitely going down, like never before in my past.

GQ I am glad you are seeing hip improvement. With me it is all that sideways working with the hoe and then cutting grass edges. I hardly ache during winter and as soon as the allotment calls, then it hits me again, every year. I am doing my utmost to preserve my hips after seeing how hubbie had to do all those difficult exercises after replacements. Rather worse to get these done as a single

    I like dandelions too :)
:D I did nip to the allotment after all. Found several dandelion clocks and carefully gathered them into a jar.

I'm gonna sow them in rows and have dandelions on tap. They're fab as salad leaves and far more nutrious than lettuce, look after themselves and grow 12 months of the year. Plus the flowers are so pretty, like little suns trapped in grass. I really like dandelions and I like the thought of passing plotholders doing a triple-take when they see them growing in a row across my allotment. It'll be one of those what the fork?! moments. ;)

Didn't do any gardening per se but did round up some more rubbish and brought a bag of it down, plus I have some plastics (4 pint milk bottles left by previous plotholder) washed up and left upside down to drip-dry, will bring them down for the recycling tomorrow.

Getting stuff off the plot by pushbike is perfectly possible, as long as you take it a little bit at a time. I aim to shift something heading each way, slow and steady wins the kondo-race.

Hope everyone has something lovely to look forward to this weekend and that Knit Witch's ruling goes her way.

I would be scared witless by transferring all that money via an e mail.

Kittie, I went into my local branch of the B of S with the information and two managers did it for me. As it was such a large amount, they explained it had to be done with two members of staff present, and I noticed there were checks and safeguards built into their process. I had to show ID (passport) and I was also asked if anyone had asked me to transfer the money. They found it unbelievable that the solicitor had sent their bank details by email without a request to check them to ensure they were genuine.

I'm particularly annoyed as I had asked to pay by cheque, but they delayed sending me the full account until it was too late to allow time for cheque processing. So that has cost me a bank fee of £25 for the transfer. Of course it is effortless for the solicitors with all the onus on the client! Very good idea re growing dandelions purposely, GQ. Smiling at the double takes people will be doing when they see them being cultivated in rows!

WeeMidgie, can you complain to the solicitor's about the extra fee due to their slowness? They may pay it back to you. You never know if you don't ask, and they are making a lot of money off of you already.
