    Good morning everyone :hello:

It's a soggy old morning out there at the moment. Max has come in soaked after his morning run around the garden on hedgehog patrol (he found one once and has never forgotten it :)).

Steve is home sick today, his nasty cold is still keeping him awake with coughing and now his muscles all hurt. I have so far managed to escape his lurgy but I don't know for how long. Phoebe and Lilly went off to school/college ok as well.

After a flurry of sad text messages from Becky yesterday, she seemed a little more settled last night. I am still very worried about her coming home and I appreciate all the advice you gave. Unfortunately, the doctor's mind is made up and she is coming home tomorrow. I hope and pray it goes alright.

I am making a big pan of bolognese sauce for tea, I have to get a grip on my eating and cooking healthy food is a great distraction too. I am going to make a meal plan for the week using what food is already here but I have ordered another load of chicken from musclefood as we are out of it.

Sending out a massive load of hugs to all of the poorly and worried people xx
I hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx

DH has gone to work and DD2 and her boyfriend left yesterday so i am back in the girls room ahhh bliss i sleep so much better as DH has a serious snoring issue he did go to a consultant once who recommended an op but told him it might hurt so he decided not to go ahead . To be honest we both sleep better apart. Ironing to do today the pile has got so tall its leaning against the patio door:eek:
Dolly still cant be bothered to get up yet but will give her a quick walk when she does .
Dinner tonight is whatever i can find in the freezer
Hugs to all those who are unwell or who have worries
Have a great day whatever you are up to x
  • Morning all,

A busy weekend for moi. Took my old car in to get MOT'd and there are a few things needing fixed, so I expect it to cost a fair bit unfortunately. My mum, step-dad and I went out for a lovely Chinese. It's a very dingy, tacky looking place in Hamilton, but the food is amazing, it really is. My mum is a foodie and they are both blessed to have a bit of a cash and so they often enjoy a meal out in some rather posh (expensive) places in Glasgow, so dragging them to Hamilton to sit in a freeeeeezing cold restaurant and we're the only table there, is saying something.

This week is super quiet for me. Organised my meal plan for the week and got the shopping in. All set.

Jackie - I'm catching up on the weekends posts, sorry to hear about your loss. My thoughts are with Margaret and the family at this tough time.
ILC - A difficult day and a hard conversation to have, I'm sure. You're efforts are very generous.
AoD - Hope you're feeling better soon and it doesn't linger to long.

ILoveComps please ensure that you do things in line with the Deputyship rules on their website - it may be best to write to all your mums creditors recorded delivery, advise them that your mum has gone into a nursing home and tell them they will be paid when your Deputyship comes through and you have control of your mums affairs. I would hate for you to be financially impacted because you did thibgs the wrong way before you legally were able to act for your mum.

    Morning all,

Wild and stormy here with wind & rain so will need to find jobs to do inside, have a sad looking orange in the fruit bowl so think will make a loaf cake to top up the tins.
Our old lady has a swollen paw, she's walking ok and not mithering at it so wonder if it's a change in her arthritis, will obviously get the vet out to check but have given her some of the anti-inflammatory painkiller as well.

Not much else to report, still plodding along, hugs to all poorlies, those with troubles and struggling to cope x

    Happy Monday everyone

Grey and damp here ...and the weathers much the same :D

Had a good day yesterday on the house and cooked a big fish pie that gave me 4 ample portions ...2 for me and 2 for mum. Also used up some mincemeat in a apple orange and mincemeat crumble ...4 portions again so will have some nice goodies to take over to mum.

Today I have some bits of work to do but should be done by lunch so can have another kitchen clean after wrecking it cooking yesterday

Sorted mums new toy out ...9.50 a month with the phone included with Tesco. Now to see if she will actually try to learn how to use it or if the toys will come out of the cot when I try to teach her to text :rotfl: Wish me luck I feel I will need it.

Karcher Glad your back. How are you?

    Have a good day all:A
  • Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.

Its a blustery morning, though it might dry laundry but the slabs at the back are still wet, so dryer it is.

Trying to reconcile my bank, its driving me daft £3 out somewhere, will have to go through again and see where the mistake is. I hate it not to come out right.

Gas and leccy bills due this week, we are behind on the gas, I was so annoyed they sent £100 back in the autumn, thats just about the amount we are out grrrrr........

I had to give in and mop the kitchen floor, it was getting on my nerves, it will get done again on Friday when the girls come. Laundry in the washer.

OH stayed in bed until around 2pm yesterday, managed to stay up until 9pm, so an improvement there. He said he felt off at one stage I made him recline his chair, thats what its for after all, he was ok after about 15 minutes, ate his supper. Had a shower and watched the coronation programme then we went to bed. It was after 1am before I drifted off but thats ok.

Egg and chips tonight, he cannot have beans with it, there is a lot of salt in baked beans, might do him mixed veg instead.

Not looking forward to the weather forecast for this week. We may not get the snow, but you can be sure if we do I am going nowhere near the car. We should have enough in to last over next weekend at least.
  • Good Morning chums and what a horrible day it is today very wet and windy and black as Newgate's Knocker out there. I got up early and did my first food shop of January and am pleased that I only spent £18.90 in total ,mostly stuff I had run out of veg fresh fruit etc and I am now well stocked no matter what the weather for at least another week to ten days. Probably need a top up shop then but it won't be a great deal as I am eating from my freezer this month definitely as I want to run it down to defrost . That mincemeat apple and orange crumble sound lovely Nelski I may have a go at that later this week as a nice change for a pudding.

My DGS Jack is walking on air as the Uni he had for his first choice have sent him an unconditional offer for this September His brother graduates from UEA in Norwich this May so for DD its one in one out :) although I believe DGS Ben will stay on in Norwich to do his PGTC there. He really likes the city and is doing placements at the primary school at the moment

I should hear this week when the funeral is as its being sorted out today I think.

I am going to my eldest DD on Saturday night for dinner as she will have Margaret down for a few days and we will be able to have a good chat then.

The weather really is foul outside but I shall be going to DDs after lunch to sort the dogs out as they need to be let out and then the boys will be coming in from school wanting a snack of some sort I expect

<<hugs >> to those who need one ,apparently today is 'blue monday ' according to the media :) in other words its a wet, windy. miserable day in mid January when all the over spending Christmas bills come in, luckily I don't over spend so thats not too much of a problem for me :) but I could easily do without the wet and windy bit :)

Take care all and keep warm and dry if you can

Hi everyone, we're finally back home after being away since before New Year. Sis-i-law's 70th went very well and almost everyone made it except for her two best friends from childhood. One is her cousin who now lives in Florida and the other has just had a knee replacement op. A good time was had by all who attended though.

I've been pressganged by the family into booking a doctor's appointment. I've had a cough on and off since September and DS has become very concerned, while we were all together he got DD and DH to gang up on me as well. I went on to the online appointments yesterday and amazingly got an appointment for this afternoon.

I want to sew this afternoon because I've really been missing it but apart from that it will be a quiet day.

    Hugs to those in need.

I went to bed early hoping for a really good sleep but tossed and turned for ages then finally woke up at ten

The second of three loads of laundry are in the machine and the dishwasher has been loaded ready to take its turn. Decided to have a really quiet day, catch up on laundry and dishes, tidy up a bit etc.

I want to go through at least one of the four sections of my wardrobe and rehang clothes on skinny hangers which take up less space. Decided to have egg and beans on toast as a brunch and will do something with the left over beef tonight maybe a small curry.

I am glad you will be able to see Margaret soon and hope the funeral goes smoothly. So pleased for Jack :j
