Click on the computer screen with magnifying glass to search for new hardware, might find it again.

Next option. Shut down, remove battery, press start button and hold for around 20 secs to de-power. Put battery back in and re start. If it does not find it then it sounds like the card is dead. Cards can be got from Ebay for around £1.50 so not a biggie except can be a pita to change..

    Yes !!!!
    That sorted it !!
Taken all afternoon but its all up & running again.
I have a nasty feeling that the problem was caused by a win 10 update.
    Many thanks Molerat...........

I have just had the opposite. Wifi not turning on when starting up. After this latest update it has worked every time.

^^this....seen many an older lappy's hardware and drivers getting borked by W10 updates, including one that became pointless with no sound or wifi (that one got a clean install of W7 and has been a happy bunny since :D )

I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple :D
