Another lie in, up just after 8 if that counts a lie in. Sun's out but wet forecast for Channel coasts, maybe I'm just enough inland to avoid?

Last night's YS Chicken Korma was in the OK for the price category [£1.50] but would be miffed at full price of £2.99

Porridge + chopped fresh pear + HM yoghurt breakfast, my new yoghurt batch is OK & not runny

Bunged bread mix in BM & now have fresh white loaf in time for lunch, which I think will be cheese & salad filling

One huge pork chop out to defrost, it's one of the ethical ones that was scoffing acorns in the New Forest this time last year.

Sorted out the car breakdown cover renewal with a couple of phone calls, had to change company as old one would not price match. I do swap around but wish it was not necessary, I'd leave it if it was only a few quid, but over £100 increase is taking the mick

Brambling, blood, what a difference a county boundary makes. Our clinic was fine, appointments only no walk ins. The only walk in has been closed and I suspect my "old" clinic will follow once they've hived off the money to GPs

Dinner, will be grilled pork chop, probably HM Actifry chips + use up salad

PN, not sure if you have freezer access, but Icl'nd have curry offers this week, 3 for £4. I think I'll pick 3 up tomorrow when I'm in town as come in handy CBA meal

    Good morning everyone,

We are fortunate that the area is big enough to warrant local services but small enough not to make centralising a common option so GPs tend to provide various clinics as part & parcel of their usual services. Things have got a bit more pressurised since one of the GP practices closed last year but all the remaining practices have since expanded so it's not too bad unless you want/need a bookable appointment with a specific Dr. Living in town I've a good array of health services pretty much on my doorstep but you only have to go a few miles where many villages have none despite being big enough to sustain decent sized primary schools and residents have to travel to for any service. Not too bad if you have transport but bus links are sparse so not easy.

Cold, wet & windy here again today but I did manage to get my errands done between squalls and got a taxi to and from town as after Monday I didn't fancy another battle against the wind.
Ham salad roll for lunch and either mushroom & lentil ragu with pasta or mince & tatties for dinner.
  • I was supposed to go and get a blood test tomorrow but I'm still feeling a bit under the weather so might wait until Friday. Luckily I live very close to a blood test centre as I have gone to the hospital before and it was a nightmare. I was waiting for about an hour and a half!

I had crackers with cream cheese and marmite for breakfast along with a cup of white tea with orange.

I really loved the guac yesterday, It was a brand I hadn't tried before. Yum.:)

Change of lunch plan, once I'd sliced the warm super fresh loaf and popped some cheese on it just begged for HM chutney instead of salad stuff. So I used chutney instead:)

Pork chop defrosted OK, that + salad + HM chips plan still in place for tonight's dinner

    Good evening everyone,
Definitely feels as though winter has arrived here, with the horrible weather it was almost dark before 6pm and it blooming perishing. I've "given in" and popped the CH on timed to come on for 20 minutes tomorrow morning as the bathroom was decidedly chilly this morning. I had hoped to keep it off for a bit longer but needs must.
I'm feeling a bit meh, not sure if it's a flu jab reaction or more likely I picked up a virus at the surgery when I went for it!:( The cold sore on the tip of my nose isn't helping either. Woe is me and all that but typical when I'm off out for dinner for a friend's birthday tomorrow evening, but I'm a sure a large G&T before the meal will temporarliy banish the lurgy :rotfl::rotfl:.
Still swithering between the mushroom & lentil ragu or savoury mince for dinner. I'll see which tub I put my hand on first in the freezer and take it from there. Dinner on my knee in front of the stove, a bit of TV and an early night are the extent of my plans for this evening. :)

PN, not sure if you have freezer access, but Icl'nd have ....

I have a little.... my bag of chips is occupying a lot of that space, but I could make room for four frozen packs if I'm eating them pretty soon.

It then comes down to CBA/not :)

I've been eating/using what I've got... today that has meant a sausage toastie for breakfast (last of the sausages), then a 4-finger fish finger toastie for lunch and for tea... so 8/15 of that pack gone.

Yesterday, after my breakfast of beans/scrambled eggs on toast I used up the other half of the tin of beans and had beans on toast... so 3 tins to go.

Current food stocks are: 1.5Kg chips, 7 fish fingers, 2 crusts of bread, half a jar of jam, 3 tins of beans, 1 14p pack of noodles and 8 eggs.

Hope you can sleep off the lurgy Caronc <hugs> If one G&T doesn't work try two ;) we were lucky weather wise today lovely day until the drive home when the sky opened at least I wouldn't have to wash the gift from the seagulls off the car :D

I'm feeling tired today I rolled over in bed and the cat was laying somewhere he shouldn't, I'm not sure who got the biggest shock him or me but it woke me enough to then need the loo and a drink at 3am, I told him if he does it again he's downstairs he usually keeps to his own side of the bed

I had my first porridge of the season for breakfast with a banana and some YS blackberries. Lunch was spinach salad with soft blue cheese and Parma ham it will be the same tomorrow :). Nothing out of the freezer for dinner so I had some sardines on toast using the wheaten bread I brought yesterday

    Hey there! :)
Loving this cold and miserable weather...I always find it much easier to eat cheaply and more healthy when I can cook more stodgy stuff!
Batch cooking today. Sweet potato, cauliflower and chickpea curry in the SC and all the questionable/iffy veg from the fridge into the soup maker for tomato, bean and vegetable soup. Thats 5 days lunch and dinner sorted and fridge cleared out also!

Welcome catz4m8z  the curry sounds nice

Caronc I hope you are feeling better today :), i think you may have overshared as I have woken up with a slightly sore throat and raised glands :( there are too many colds (or flu depending on who you ask) floating around the office. I have a Dr appointment tomorrow for something else which I don't want to cancel as it's taken me over 3 weeks to get  will probably mean if I don't have anything I will by the time I leave

Looking on the bright side it's a lovely sunny day here, just unfortunately I'm at work. I received a 'where are you' message on my mobile when I got to work from the company coming tomorrow to quote for French doors, it seems he was sitting outside home whilst i'm 12 miles away  I know it's not my mistake as I purposely booked a time tomorrow as I'm working from home in the morning. I've left a message for him but he's not called back so will phone the company lunchtime

Lunch will be the same as yesterday spinach salad with parma ham and soft blue cheese, which will use up both the parma and cheese. Dinner is planned as crispy tofu with katsu curry sauce and rice probably with green beans and broccoli as both need eating. I brought the tofu already crumbed and it's not so good as the smoked one I flour myself but there's a half pack in the freezer which needs eating.
