I sometimes look at my last village on fb, there are only ever a few people posting, the same ones all the time. Last week was a warning about someone getting close to someone`s shed, a month previous was a break in at a farm. So it is concentrated news. I cannot tell you the number of times I accidentally left my back foor unlocked, no-one ever came close to scaring me and all the people local to me, in fact it was a calm safe and happy place
I used that LL microwave pod again yesterday, popped in an aubergine RM that I had made and was on the small side so I popped a very small bit of venison casserole next to the aubergine. It`s fab, no clingfilm or lid involved and it all cooks evently and is moist. I`m going to use it again today, lots of fresh veg and a small slice of skinless salmon. CBA with cooking anuyhing fancy, I have better things to do
Another own up now, I opened a big box of biscuits that I bought for christmas, chomped far too many for 2 days, very thin and full of cinnemon, nice at first then overpowering. I don`t know why I do this to myself so I chucked the loose biscuits in the bin and kept the nice tin. I am so weak willed if in prowling mood
egg and sd toast for breakfast and another aubergine rm for tea. I need to try and empty some freezer things0 -
Last night I had another toasted sausage/brown sauce sandwich - and somebody'd left a jar of brownies out with a note "help yourself" - so I did, twice. Looking this morning, nobody else appears to have done
This morning I've done beans and scrambled eggs on toast for breakfast.... so that's 45p instead of £4.99 on a Toby0 -
caronc, I wrote a lovely comment yesterday but some-how lost it and still feeling so much pain I just could not do it again but thanks for your kind thoughts think I will have to call doc out for home visit. x0

Brambling - that's rubbish and sounds very unfair. My dummy would be getting firmly flung out of the pram:mad:
pattypan - I can't keep Ritz type crackers in the house for the same reason, once I start eating them I can't stop:o
PN - sounds as though you're settling in well. A housemate that shares brownies is never a bad thing
Wet & windy here again this morning, thankfully I don't need to go anywhere apart from the bin.
I've got a horribly sore arm where I was jabbed yesterday not helped by accidently bumping earlier. I don't remember it being as bad last year but may just have forgotten. No doubt it will settle in a couple of days.
Salad wrap & fruit for lunch and something involving peppers & courgettes for dinner tonight.0 -
I was very lazy yesterday and bought a jar of pasta sauce at the shop and just mixed it with the curry powder and added a small tin of new potatoes and some frozen broc and peas. It was very delicious! I had half for lunch and then the rest for dinner.
I had a PB sarnie for breakfast.
I fancied nachos so I'm having tortilla chips today with some salsa and some guacamole. I will have it with some beans mixed up with some chilli powder and have some hot sauce over the top.:)0 -
I agree with what people are saying about getting a feel for an area yourself. I read that one of the areas that I went to at the weekend and I had read quite negative things about it like having a lot of antisocial behaviour and I didn't notice that at all. It seemed very middle class and quiet. Much nicer where I live now!:rotfl:2025 GOALS

Decided that salad wasn't going cut on such a miserable day and a hot lunch was needed.
Lurking wrapped has been filled with eggs that were scrambled with tomato, mushroom, oregano and a few drops of tabasco. It was lovely:)0 -
Into L's this morning, nothing took my fancy at all, so left empty handed, not that I need anything except inspiration
Fasting blood test mid morning, the clinic I used to go to, with early fasting arrangement has had it's dosh funnelled to GPs, so now I have to follow the money, and Dracula does not arrive until after 9, never mind I've plenty of blubber to survive on:o
More woes, my meds are not available, well they are but not in dose Dr prescribed, so back I have to trot & get prescription amended to reflect what is in stock
All this computerised medicine, once computer says "NO" that's it. Once upon a time the chemist would phone Doc and sort it out. Grrr:mad:
Luckily missing them out for a few days is not life threatening, just an inconvenience
One silver lining, the chemist is near C0sttter, so popped in there and found dinner:), YS Chicken Korma for tonight.
Lunch was two more PB rolls, this time with cheese & cuc fillingEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
Good evening everyone,
What a faff at the pharmacy Farway, here they just phone the surgery, sort it out and get you to sign a form!
It's turned into a horrible cold, wet & windy evening, it's almost dark:(. I've just lit the stove so the place should be cosy soon.:)
I was going to make a pepper & courgette stew concoction to have with chicken thighs & sweet potatoes but CBA so it's my "go to" oven bung it in of roast veg & chicken. All the same ingredients but easier.:)
Forecast looks dire again tomorrow unfortunately I need to go out in the morning, I'm not battling the wind again and will just take a taxi. Looks as though my Dad's house sale will be completed and keys handed over on the 25th, we've bits to clear this weekend and then it will just be the final meter readings the day before.0 -
None of the doctor surgeries in town do their own bloods now so it's chaos at our small hospital especially since they went from appointments to take a ticket. Last time I got there for opening at 8am there were 57 people in front of me, it seems the OAPs start gathering before 7.30am  they stop at 3.45pm and I'm told even if you have been waiting they send you away. I usually work from home when my annual test is due, but even a quiet time of day can take a hour. I plan to go Friday before a doctor appointment, it should be a fun day
I may need  afterwards
Lunch was the second portion of my chicken laksa with noodles I should be thinking what to have tomorrow now  I needed a quick dinner before tai chi as I didn't want to have a rumbling tummy again so I grab a light meal of scrambled egg on wheaten bread. I now no longer feel the need to hit someone, well at least until tomorrow :rotfl:
