Last night's LO cucumber report, it was manky when I checked it:(
However there was a newish one, plastic wrapped from L's so feasted on with that wit Marmite in sarnie

Porridge breakfast, bit dull today, even rained a bit, but into Town, milk & porridge needed, plus YS mooching

Nothing spectacular, pack of pears, 50p, in Iceland of all places
Then YS bacon & pack of YS chipolatas in W/rose, pigs in blankets anyone?

I had some of the chipolatas in a sarnie for lunch

The rest I'll cook and have some with HM chips + eggs + LO beans for tonight's dinner
The LO cold ones will do for something over the next few days, even just picking at them whenever I open the fridge:o

I'll have some grilled wrinkly toms with dinner tonight, some were so past it that I put them in the compost bin, had bit of a shock when I opened the lid on number two compost Dalek, couple of slow worms "at home" in there:eek:

Never had them before, but I don't mind them, and it explains where next door's cat got his one from the other day:mad: I rescued that one and put it in the border.
I'll have to nurture them but the Dalek is in a nice warm spot so guess it's ideal

I only too well understand your thyroid fustration, I've been on tablets for 10 years and occassionally it plays up again, for 6 months last year i was having monthly bloods to monitor it as it was going up and down and the doctor didn't want to increase my dosage. Which is a pain when you are trying to lose weight. Some times if you up your exercise it can take a while to show on the scales, are you able to tell if you're losing any inches?

I find the trouble with low carb days if I miss my carbs :rotfl: but it's whatever works for you as we're all different :)

I will take my measurements again tomorrow as sometimes it does show up as inch loss rather than weight loss. It's just annoying as when I did WW when I was in my 20s and 30s I would lose 3-4 pounds a week most weeks and then found it very easy to maintain my final weight.

I love bread, pasta, potatoes etc... too. :rotfl: Particularly bread.

I hate to break it to you but when you reach 50+ it will get even harder

PN I usually buy small cucumbers, they may work out more money but they last longer than half a cucumbers and I'm not throwing any away.

You may not be interested, but if waste is a major concern, you could always try pickling some of them.
I've been getting quite into pickling and fermenting thanks to Brad Leone

I'm probably going to make another stir fry for dinner tonight.

  • Am having a go at growing courgettes in a pot, not sure how it will go but never mind. I love the programmes about food factories, I just love watching the robot machines making choccie bars/filling bottles etc etc and the "bald gurning guy" he loves them too, seeing lettuces being picked n packed in minutes, love it.

I'm sure you can train the courgettes to climb if you put them in pots, I don't think you have to buy special plants but not sure so you might want to check :)

I've lost 3 inches from my waist from working out this week.:j

Cool, I'm eating low carb today so I had an almond milk smoothie for breakfast.

I then did a walk then used my trampoline and arm weights and then had the leftover bean chilli with an avocado, green olive and cucumber salad.

I'm making a Quorn stir fry tonight, no rice, just courgette noodles.

I will probably have some nuts and an apple as a snack.

Back to normal routine post Easter

Into L's on way to volunteering, even more change rounds in there, I guess it's a bit like yours now PN, high freezers, all bright & shiny, can't find a bl00dy thing?

I did find the porridge, they moved the cereals around again but now I know where they are, this week at least. For some reason salads are in two distinct areas, same stuff by looks of it

Found the choccie bix and apple pies anyway:o

Lunch was YS bacon in a sarnie

I may have same for dinner, I've got a loaf in the Panny and I'm not feeling very hungry, even chucked some of last night's dinner in the bin, hope I'm not coming down with "something"

:T:T:T:T well done that woman :D sometimes it takes a while for the scales to catch up

Typically Friday feeling today and we're all currently [STRIKE]arguing [/STRIKE] discussing whose wants to attend a 3.30pm telephone conference if anyone and that includes the boss :o Not all bad as it's that time of the year again and i've been given a little extra in my pay rise and bonus due to covering staff storages last year :shhh: don't tell anyone :) not enough for a world cruise but will more than cover the large CC bill without raiding the savings pot and some left over for me :D

Lunch was a large salad with a little smoked salman and a boiled egg, I know the weather has changed but it was what I fancied :) lots of raw veg as well as salad stuff added, unfortunately after the cucumber discussion I forgot to add any cucumber to it :rotfl:

Dinner I'm not sure about yet i picked up reduced fresh tuna from the fish counter yesterday half price, which will need to be eaten or frozen so I will probably have that with new potatoes and some green veg i'll have to see where the mood takes me later, as least it's easy although the Jersey Royals are the ones you need to wash the dirt off :money: they were reduced of course :) so half the price per kilo to the washed ones ;)
