Definitely a CBA day today I'm blaming the rain  I usually cook on a Sunday if I'm home but not today, suddenly it's after 9pm and I've seem to have done nothing all day. Anyway tomorrow is a new day
although unfortunately a work day
Farway we're not due a frost yet although the temp is due to drop to 3 or 4 tonight, it was a thicker jumper and socks day, Autumns on its way
So in the fashion of a true CBA day no lunch just lots of picky things spread over the day some healthy like fruit some not so healthy like biscuits  dinner was the last of the corn beef on ryvita with gherkins followed by yoghurt with berries. Must do better tomorrow :cool:Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
Morning all!
The tiniest breeze, and not a cloud in the sky.
I had a lovely weekend away. Considering the doom and gloom of the weather forecast, we just about got away with it. It was a bit drizzly Saturday afternoon, and we had a heavy bit breakfast time yesterday, so we lingered over breakfast, and by the time we were ready to move, it was tailing off.
The wellies did prove useful! My mum enjoys visiting rural village churches. She likes the architecture, and enjoys reading the old grave stones. She and dad both enjoyed doing it together when dad was still alive, but now he's no longer with us, it's perhaps not really safe for mum to be traipsing round rural, isolated church yards on her own.
We had 3 nice meals out, and a particularly nice beef roast in a little pub yesterday.
We stayed in a Premier Inn, which are usually alright, but I slept horribly. Couldn't get to sleep for what felt like hours (normally I'm out like a light), and then tossed and turned. Both nights were equally bad. I was pleased to return to my own bed last night. I don't normally have trouble dropping off to sleep in hotel rooms, so I'm not sure what went wrong there.
Shortly, I'll head out to Tesco for the food shop. I'd normally do Lidl, but I want to see if Tesco have any machines for printing photos out. I think they used to, back in the day, but I haven't had cause to look for years.
I do need to make a meal plan and a shopping list before I go though!Because it's fun to have money!

Flubberyzing - your mother didnt come out with a similar scenario to the one my mother did one time did she? - and thus you had it on your mind?
We don't share a mother do we LOL? Mine also likes looking round old rural churchyards and reading the gravestones. Cue for lots of comments along the lines of "Ooh look - that must be a whole family there by the look of it. Didnt one or two of them die so young?" By now, I know her so well that, whilst she had hauled me round a particularly scenic rural graveyard not forever away from her house - she looked down at some stones, looked up at nearby hills and I said "....and this is where you would like to be buried, isn't it?". It was....:rotfl:
So - I can well imagine your mother probably also "scans the scene" from her personal pov - and might have made a comment like that. Sighs....mothers...
Mind you - at least she never let on about a second "string to her bow" she probably also had in mind (ie back when I was younger). She probably had a second purpose in mind for attractive little rural churches - given that she had a daughter LOL. This time - more focused on what the inside of the church was like....0 -
'morning, quick pop in before I'm out walking round RHS Wisley enjoying the bright but cold sun and hopefully some Autumn colour
Flubbereyzing, Premier inns, prefer them to the other chain, how about asking Lenny Henry for your money back?:) Didn't he use to advertise a goods night#s kip there? A Sunday roast beef lunch in a pub, sounds nice, and traditional
Breakfast was porridge, this time I had one of my[STRIKE] stolen [/STRIKE]scrumped pears sliced in, plus HM yoghurt & honey
I tried some of the pears last night, raw, the first two were rotten inside:(. They looked perfect from outside. Just as well they were knicked and not paid for ones
Means I have to cut them now, can't just bite in for juicy goodness
Lunch will be whatever is found in a cafe, there is a nice cafe near but parking is difficult on working days, time will tell
Dinner, no idea, there are two LO cold bangers so in emergency could be a cold sausage sarnie, or beans on toastEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
Ooh the weather's gone chilly! Very sunny but bitter cold, my summer duvet with quilted throw over weren't cutting it last night I had to put my fleece dressing gown over the top! Winter duvet going on today!
I was back from spa at lunch time yesterday, we had lots of fun, and a very nice meal sat night.
I made pizzas for the freezer yesterday afternoon and tidied the garage a bit more .
Today dgson is coming for tea and has requested chicken in crispy taco shells, as his mum won't buy them! So garlic and paprika chicken with salsa and salad undecided on chips or rice if needed. Got 3 apples and will try a simple recipe with them cook apples with butter then add sultanas ,jam (plum) if you have any if not, mixed spice and a bit of water. It should go on rice pud but dgson doesn't like it, so his will be with icecream or custard.:jFocus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.0 -

I was thinking of a small fan heater for the bedroom as I don't have heating on in mornings, and thought about a fan heater to warm for 10 mins whilst showering? I've been offered an oil filled heater which would save money but think it would take longer to warm the room therefore be less efficient for what it's needed for. Does anyone have any thought?? Sorry a bit off topic xFocus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.0

Good morning everyone,
Snap wort I put a heavier duvet on my bed when I changed it earlier. I used to have an oil filled heater but gave it away as I found it took ages to heat the room so it was cheaper to put the heating on for a short while.
Glad you enjoyed your weekend flubberyzing, shame you didn't sleep well. I too enjoy a rattle round old churches/graveyards not for any ulterior motives re final resting place etc. just because I enjoy the sense of time & history.
There as definitely been a touch of frost overnight has some of my plants have been nipped.:( There's more brambles ripe so will pick them later before the cold gets them too. It's not so nice today, a bit dull & showery so unless it perks up further bulb planting can wait.
Lunch I think will be an egg & tomato sandwich. Easy dinner tonight of chicken stuffed with haggis & mash from the freezer and the other half of the peppercorn sauce I made yesterday. I'll have that with the last of broad beans, savoy cabbage and carrots.:)
ETA - shame about the pears Farway, at least they were free!0 -
Haha! Money, my mother now has at least 5 church yards she'd like to be scattered in! Unfortunately, her favourite is on one of the islands off the Scottish coast, so rather far away!! She's still got dads ashes in the spare bedroom, and what she wants to do with them still remains a mystery!
Interestingly, my auntie (while mum was out of ear-shot) floated the idea of mum getting herself a "gentleman companion"... Not sure where that has come from... Unless auntie-dear has heard a name mentioned a few times! I have no problem in the slightest with her getting herself a "friend" if she wants one. I think it would be nice, for her sake, if she did! However, my sister was rather sniffy about the whole idea! No doubt she'd come around if it did happen.
Anyway, I went to Tesco, and wished I'd had my winter coat! I also dropped a parcel off at the next street. My street has a very similar name to the parallel street and delivery men often get it confused. I have to say, I did just leave the parcel on the doorstep after ringing the bell and getting no answer. It's a very safe, quiet neighbourhood round here, so shouldn't be any bother, and no rain forecast today. It was just an Amazon jobby and not very big or heavy.
Also looked in Tesco for photo printing machines. They had 3. All were turned off, and there was not a single member of staff nearby to ask for them to be switched on. Oh well!
Doing a ham sandwich for lunch.
Dinner is going to be a pizza.Because it's fun to have money!

Nice day, so I did a launderette run ... and grabbed everything I could find, so used the biggest machine. It's probably the equivalent of 3-4 normal machine washes, takes just 30 minutes and they come out drier than my machine used to.
For lunch I got a big bread roll from the freezer and toasted it, topped with beans and scrambled eggs. I usually slice rolls before I freeze them, but I skimped last time and so had to cut this one once defrosted - which gives a soft/jagged edge... which then promptly stuck to the inside of the toaster, so just had to scrape all that out
I'm really pleased I got rid of the FB pie.. it was definitely one of those "cupboard lurkers" that's hard to get round to fancying.0
