Farway I followed my big sister's instructions which were microwave to start it off (depending on size approx 5 mins) then add to actifry for approx 10 mins no oil and to me it tastes like a oven one. I don't have a flash airfryer just one of those simple ones. In fact if this heat carries on I may have another one for tonight

    Paddle in or out?

Exhausted, watching the footie, not a big fan but had to watch Engeeerland play, worth it. Won 6-1:j

Update, searched, paddle out it seems.

Mine's too basic for a paddle :rotfl: it's just a basket and for chips you have to stop and shake them. Jacket potatoes I just sit and leave. But it's also good for things in pastry like quiches

I'm not a football watcher, I came home to hear my neighbours cheer the second goal and then my sister texted an update with every goal :T

Oh my goodness, what a lot of walking when watering the allotment, I try to do a good watering on a few sections at a time but I cannot let the ground over my green manure seeds harden, so that is daily. 4 gals on each apple tree today and loads around the blackcurrants yesterday. Ben conan are on the verge of turning properly, I got a 1lb off 2 bushes today but the light makes it deceptive. I sit with a hat on, its quite pleasant.

Food really is secondary just now, as I try and go cycling on a round route first. Tomorrow I am planning to have a lamb rm and kale for breakfast. Love this kale, the young leaves, they just melt down. Tart and salad for lunch and a cacao/oat milk drink when I come back from the early morning session on allotment after cycling. Then it is blinds down to keep the heat out and fan on

I am watching the birds drinking from my sloar water feature in a big bowl. Must fill it up again, there are no puddles for them

    Good evening everyone,

Happy "midsummer day":), it's certainly been gorgeous weather here today for it - I'm back in my shorts:eek::D. I'm also back to CFO after a weekend of being throughly spoiled by my family. My son made really a really good chicken, chorizo and veg bake with patas bravas last night. The patas bravas were the best I've tasted outwith Spain, and better than a good few I had there- seven of us scoffed (bar a very small portion) 2 kgs worth so they must have been good. There are a couple of portions of chicken left which I'll be happy to use up.:) My cousin baked a glorious mojito cake, she is a wonderful baker and there's only a smidge left of that, which again I don't think I'll have any problem using up.:) I'm also now the delighted owner of some more garden planters, a sisal owl ornament, a chimera/fire pit, a beautiful wooden platter and a bottle of Welsh seaweed gin:D.
It's too warm tonight to consider cooking much so it stea, LO patas bravas and salad for dinner:).

Happy Birthday Caronc :bdaycake: glad you had a good weekend

Popped into town this morning with my sister, a shoe shop we both like had a sale :D i don't usually buy when they're full price as they are expensive but they are very comfortable to wear and last along time. I did restrict it to one pair but did also buy a handbag  and then as we were walking pass Mountain W* a pair of lightweight walking boots I have been eyeing up for awhile waved from the shop window and as they were half price I couldn't not buy them  we both lead each other astray as I talked her into a dress, jeans and tee shirt :rotfl: not a bad shop we were only in town a hour and half and I got her home in time for the football :D

Seemed to have missed lunch today :D had usual yogurt and fruit for breakfast and then realised I was hungry at 5.30pm I blame the heat. Dinner was another jacket potato with LO coleslaw with cheese and ham

    Good morning everyone,

Thanks for the birthday wishes Brambling, it's back to reality today.
It's looks as though it's going to be another glorious day so I plan to get what I need to get done before it gets too warm especially in the kitchen/conservatory. I had the SC on overnight with the bones my son had taken out of a pile of chicken thighs and some veg & herbs to make stock so I'll get that strained and reduced while it's cool enough to not mind having the hob on.
Lunch will be avocado salad and tonight I'm going to have some chicken & chorizo LO from Saturday, asparagus and new potatoes so very little by way of prep & cooking.
I need to wield the weedkiller again so I think that will be my garden task for today. I could do with staking up my tom plants but the greenhouse is roasting already so I'll wait until it's a bit cooler in there.

Late start today, didn't get up until gone 8, which is a big lie in for me.

Because of that, plus I forgot to put porridge in soak last night:( breakfast was pot of tea & CFO special breakfast of a cold sausage roll:o

Then out watering my runners & other stuff in pots, before the heat gets going. The heat is not suiting my runners, not many setting pods to be seen, enough but not loads

But my, how the figs are loving this heat, all swings & roundabouts in garden land

Lunch, looking at soft cheese + salady bits in a sarnie

Dinner? I've taken a frozen cheese & onion quiche out to defrost, so probably some of that with more salad items

Confession, last night's dinner fail. The baked spud slipped into CBA territory, so I had the salmon & salad bits in a wholemeal bread sandwich, so sort of same dinner calorie & carb wise, just in my paws instead of on a plate

    Thanks MTSTM:)
Farway - my runners are struggling a bit too with the weather, lots of leaves & flowers but no sign of any pods yet!
