Did an early morning run to the shops... managed to bag two YS packs of lean steak mince (500g), so halved those and now have four flattened bags of 250g in the freezer. Also got bread rolls, a pack of four YS muffins and stocked up with a jar of coffee ... statutory bar of milk chocolate and some greedy chocolate digestives
I did that while my washing was in the machine at the launderette, as it's a nice drying day ... so that was good.
Breakfast might be one of those muffins, toasted, topped with scrambled eggs and beans ... as I've got a tin of beans open and I have plenty of eggs.
What isn't good though is that the telly appears to have packed up. Oh, hang on, the red light's on again .... maybe it'll limp along for a bit more time. It just powers itself completely off and it's done it twice now in two weeks.0 -
Good morning everyone,
My you are all sounding very industriousunlike myself who has only managed to shower, dress & have breakfast.:o
The wind seems to have died back, it's still quite mild but grey and gloomy and definitely cooler that yesterday. Yesterday was the first day where I didn't need to pop the heating on low for an hour or so in the evening, I'm not sure it wll stay off all day today though as it's forecast to be quite chilly this evening. It's usually well into May before I would say that my heating is fully "off" for the warmer months.
Usual toast & fruit for breakfast and lunch will be LO sumac chicken & salady bits in a crusty roll. Moussaka tonight which will take 5 mins to finish prepping later.:)
My goal for today is to get the rest of the seeds I want to start indoors sown and then tidy out my seed box. If it stays dry I'll hopefully get a few bits done outside as well.0 -
It was a lovely day yesterday and feels even warmer today.
I'm about to have a cool bath and then sit out in the garden for a while and read.
I've had two GF toasts with marg and some squeezed orange juice.
I'm going to have a big salad and veggie burger for lunch along with some lime roasted sweetcorn.:)
I need to put the sails back up in my garden as it gets so hot out there and they provide some shade. I will have to do that later and I have some washing to do too.0 -
In the end I boiled 3 eggs and made some egg/salad cream. Scoffed one bread roll filled with that straight away ... and I'm currently half way through a second one0

Phew, wot a scorcher:) I was very much overdressed on my morning mooch, the wise ones were in T shirts & short sleeves, muggins had his winter waterproof on:o
Breakfast was overnight soaked porridge, with sliced banana, HM yoghurt & honey
The only YS things were crumpets, so grabbed a packet of them
I had two for lunch, topped with grilled cheese and blob of chutney
Lucky I had the crumpets, my loaf was getting very stale. By the miracle of CFO it is now a yummy looking bread pudding, cooling and waiting the time for tasting:j
Dinner, I just do not know, too hot to bother with faffing prep & cooking, should be salad but it wont be
Maybe more cheese topped crumpets, with bread pud later? Either way bread pud will be sampled before bed
Time to get out & mow the grass, post cat poo disposal:(
I may plant a lone rose which has been on standby in a pot since last Autumn, back & time permittingEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -

I've never really been able to figure out the phrase "Keep your enemies close"?? I know someone that has had involvement in "recent episode" came in where I was today and she was being all friendly/agreeing with me last time I saw her - but I've been told comments she is said to have made "behind my back". It could be either her or person she talked to "behind my back" that says her conversation with me was very different to what it actually was.
I'm reserving judgement and was playing it as "being as friendly (ostensibly) on the surface to her" as I genuinely was before and play a waiting game and hope the truth will emerge as to whether she's been talking against me behind my back. So "friendly - and careful" whilst I wait to see what the truth of the matter is somewhere along the line hopefully.

TV - I've been having problems too for about the last fortnight with mine. I have Freeview and being unable to get channels I'm used to. Have checked it out and ITV has gone and changed what channels they broadcast them on and didnt even tell us in advance they were planning on that. So - I've got a "little man" lined-up to come in and re-tune my tv for me and I'm going to have to pay him to do it - but, fortunately, it's not as much as I feared it would be. I gather some makes of tv are more "professional having to do it", rather than an "amateur - like the householder - can do it". Just my luck I've got the more "difficult" type.
So that may be what the tv problem is.

Scorcher Farway - wah!!!!! cries. Grey/cold/threatening to rain - yeah what's new then? here. It was sods law that yesterday (which was decent weather) had me cloistered indoors having a guy fixing my computer for me...0 -
It has been/is a scorcher here and I did mull the idea of going out, but then you have questions ... it's a mile to "get there", then I'm there and so what? Sit down and stare? Bit dull... I'd get a bit twitchy .... and the weather can change, so how many changes of clothes do you take, how many changes of shoes, what if it turns nippy, how much food/drink .... and, ultimately, "everything you want and need" is at home. So, while I'd like to "go out", I can't really "justify" it.0

I guess we have to "compartmentalise" and "stick them in the deep freezer" mentally speaking:cool:..
Make it tea and you're on - lemon drizzle and almond slice ok
I did have to threaten my boss last year if he didn't say something to a colleague about the way she spoke to me I would and he wouldn't want that as I'm a lady of a certain age
Really hot here today 25 or 26 I really didn't want to come back in after lunch, popped into the SM for milk and found myself grazing at the special offer gin - in my defence it was on an end aisle I didn't go looking for it :A . I was good and resisted much to the amusement of the women walking behind me as I said out loud 'NO you came in for milk' and walked away.
Lunch was the last of the falafels with salad, picked up a YS pizza which I will divide up and have some for tea tonight, probably should have something green with it so will rustle up a salad as well.Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
Good evening everyone,
Definitely not a scorcher here max about 13C, but the gloom did clear mid afternoon and it was very pleasant outdoors though a cardi was needed. Still not feeling terribly bendy so just had a gentle potter in the garden but as they say "every little helps". I did manage though to sow the remaining seeds I wanted to get started. Most of the ones I sowed 10 days a go are doing well though one type of courgette is still to appear, I'll give it a few days and then try again. I've signs of seedlings in all bar 2 of my tomatoes, those seeds were really elderly so they might just have gone completely past it. I'll have more than enough otherwise. Various greens & beans are doing well as are the cucumbers so fingers crossed they'll continue to do so and I can get them potted on in a few weeks.
The moussaka is layered up so I just need to whisk the topping (eggs, yoghurt, feta and mint) and pop it in the oven. I'll cook a few green beans to have with it.0
