I am so craving some real coffee and real tea. I don`t know why but I had pants instant coffee and lancashire t bags the last few days. Fresh ground coffee is being made right now and later will be back on my fresh oolongs, green teas and very special teas in tiny pots. They will be much better and more satisfying than the sugar cravings I developed over the past few days, that craving caused by hibernation

Those specialist teas can all be re-used 2-3 times just increasing the time to brew. The first brewed green teas take a few seconds from loose leaves. I cannot get out to get rid of grounds either so they will just be put into a sieve and piece of kitchen roll

I spotted this in the Guardian https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2018/mar/03/leek-mushroom-kale-pea-stir-fry-the-new-vegan-meera-sodha and thought that may well be Monday's planned stir fry sorted. :)Though it will be savoy cabbage instead of kale. The recipe is for 4 but it looks as though it will scale down just fine for CFO.

Snow stopped here now thank goodness.

Also thinking "thank goodness" I didn't pick somewhere more "remote" in this area (not that one can anyway imo if not having a car). Reports coming through that an hour or so ago there was a right gale going on only about 6 miles out - whilst I was looking out my window at the odd stray flake of snow:)

I also made sure there was a bus stop a pretty short distance away from me - and that goes down into the centre of the town.

Note to self - to write down times of buses from/to that bus stop at some point just-in-case. Though my norm is to walk over to main road for some buses and down to town centre for ones going "elsewhere".

Now wondering if I can tap into my "inner Puritan" and get that protestant work ethic going and do some springcleaning today..... (NB: I do have an "inner Mediterranean" as well - bring on the retsina and dancing....hastens to add).

oh I just had the call at the door, the kind people who wanted to know if I was ok, needed anything. I had to smile and be grateful but deep down I am fiercely independent, very well stocked and very careful not to fall, hurt myself etc. Doh, I hate `that` look, ok I am 70 but have more get up and go than a lot of 60 year olds.

`do you know that the village cafe is open?` no I didn`t, so I changed and thought I would just go across the snow on top of gravel, to my garage to get my walking boots. Blimey it is far too slippy, I sat down as soon as I left the front door, was a soft landing, felt my way tentatively around my car and turned back indoors. What the heck, kindly do-gooders could be encouraging people out when instinct really says stay in, not safe. I bet there are a few injuries in the village today

money, if you are interested, craftsy is doing a free classes weekend, all sorts of crafts, baking, jewellery all sorts. I have abandoned `work` in the house, am watching craftsy and thinking about do-gooders and the potential innocent harm they could do

My Dad appeared unexpectedly- completely fed up indoors so risked heading out on his mobility scooter:eek:. His home insurance is up for renewal and he was wanting me to pay (with his card) it online for him. Eh no it was far too expensive, now he'll only use companies he's heard of but even so a quick £125 saved by changing insurer. I wonder how many older people are just blindly paying these inflated quotes:mad::mad:
