S0d it..... I resisted.... but I think I'm going to have to make those biscuits in the coming days (hopefully not hours) .... I don't really want them, don't need them .... but there's some compulsion about food once you're exposed to it :)

I'm perfectly happy, delirious, buying biscuits, on a whim, in packets.... I've no need to bake my own. But there it is .... that recipe thrust under my nose twice now .... grrrrr :)

I don't really like "hard biscuits" as I'm always scared they'll break my teeth.

That's two of us. Sounds like the smell of ginger and snap of broken teeth will be common along the South Coast this weekend:D

Just be grateful you have teeth.
I'm getting perilously close to 'teeth in a jar' time. :rotfl:

    Good evening everyone,

    I'm alternating between :mad::mad::mad: and :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

After [STRIKE]nagging[/STRIKE] prompting from assorted family members, I got myself organised to apply for a "Blue Badge". You can "do it online", ideal thought I so various documents found, scanned and uploaded, application form filled in and payment submitted. It took a wee bit of time but was easy enough. Got through to the final screen and you have to print the whole blinking lot off including the uploaded documents and uploaded photo.... What was the point of having to scan and upload these when you could just have copied/printed them straight off.... Another case I feel of Local Authorities not quite getting the hang of the digital age.....

Anyhow rant over:), I've changed my mind slightly about dinner tonight. Still going with turkey steak baked in ratatouille but will pop some baby spuds into roast while the oven is on instead of boiling pasta.

I'm now cooking Sunday dinner for family (my sister was going to but is chasing her tail car hunting after hers died the other day so I offered:)). My nephew's gf is pesce so I always seem to end up making something with salmon so for a change I'm going to make a big shepherdess pie with savoy cabbage alongside and lots of onion/mushroom gravy. Apart from some more spuds which my son will pick up for me I have everything in for which is ideal.:money:Hopefully my Dad won't miss the meat too much:D

Beautiful day but bitterly cold, nevertheless washed and dried the bedding and towels, they just needed airing when I brought them in. Back on the bed as dgson wanted the flannelette sheet back on for tonight.
We had piri piri chicken cheese and onion on a toastie for lunch with kiwi banana, apple and satsuma chopped between us then I did 45 mins outside cutting back a few shrubs.

Tea was chicken balti rice and poppadoms, I had a third of a tin of rice pud. Dgson ate some peanut m and Ms he got at Xmas, saved some for Sunday! !

I'm working tomorrow at lunch time so will drop him off on the way.

Thanks, duly noted and maybe maiden voyage this weekend, depends on the Saturday morning weigh in;)

Bright with a Baltic wind here, no gardening today

    Nil breakfast
Apart from coffee & honey just a huge YS pizza from L's. It must be family size. No idea why YS, over a week before BBE

Lunch was back to cheese & salady sarnie

    Dinner, just do not know.
Last night's finished up as choc spread on toast, I don't want to repeat that, found my spud horde has white legs, so baked ones out of the question

Tempted to freezer dive and oik out some frozen fish thing, either breaded fillet or posh W/r fingers, and make chips with a sprouty spud

Sprouty spuds here just get their legs chopped off, I still have them as jackets! I would peel if a bit wrinkly though.:rotfl:

  • Well I tried the pulled jackfruit recipe.

Verdict - it comes under "Well I ate it" territory imo. I can see that pulling apart bits of jackfruit gives similar texture to pulled pork. But - it's been literally decades since I ate meat to remember what pork is like and I don't think it's very much like that personally. Recipe not quite according to plan - as I forgot to get passata out of my freezer in time to defrost - so had to use canned tomatoes instead.

I've got a bit of a suspicion that food that is meant to be 'direct substitute' for meat or, come to think of it, the vegan "cheese" equivalents are a bit of "wishful thinking" imo.

So - I've got another helping of that to eat (the usual blinkin' "having to halve a recipe for 4 and eat it two days running" malarkey:() and I think I'll have it with baked potatoes basically.

But I don't reckon I'll be having that again...
