I think it has been said many times on the forum before - if you want an excellent instantaneous bank account use one of the Challenger banks EG starling or monzo keep well away from the NatWest Barclays and Lloyds of this world
if you're not bothered about the exact timing of your transactions then it doesn't matter0 -
I'm now puzzled. Bank transfers done on a weekend from one banking group to another have been going through instantly for me recently. The money appears seconds later in the target account. So is this all now changing, if 'weekends don't exist in banking' anymore?
No that isn’t changing and weekends still exist.
What is changing is with some banks BACS payments due to hit the account on Monday would be available to withdraw against on the Saturday before. This now doesn’t happen and the funds will be available from Monday. This is being introduced as part of PSD22.88 kWp System, SE Facing, 30 Degree Pitch, 12 x 240W Conergy Panels, Samil Solar River Inverter, Havant, Hampshire. Installed July 2012, acquired by me on purchase of house in August 20170 -

Barclays usually do show payments as available on a Saturday- I have the same account as your son and the last student loan payment I got cleared on a Saturday and my PIP payments which are due on a Monday always show on a Saturday. I asked Barclays is there any plans to change this and they said no.*The RK and FF fan club* #Family*Don’t Be Bitter- Glitter!* #LotsOfLove ‘Darling you’re my blood, you have my heartbeat’ Dad 20.02.200
