  • Thanks for the support as always. I needed the hugs -the past few days were trying. Test results took just over 48 hours but we can now get on with life again as it was negative! Thanks for your kind words when I needed them.

So relieved for you that the test was negative.
    June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!
  • All I can say is I thought I needed hugs, but I didn't - us going into and out of isolation, tests etc is nothing in comparison to the hardship that others are facing. Big virtual hugs to all who need it.

  • I have been working hard, teaching the student, cooking and wiping. I've been homeschooling the boys too (we don't break up until Wednesday officially but whole year groups were being told to isolate). I've also managed a couple of walks on the beach for my sanity! Basic things like Christmas cards done, a few presents regifted to try and get some chocolates out of the house!

I've been doing some really interesting research/ cpd regarding sugar and anxiety, and how to reframe anxiety as something to be lived with and considered as more of a 'positive' than simply as a disorder. So interesting. The research is definitely going to form some basis for personal changes for me next year as well as at work.

    Money in
I've had more tutoring enquiries for 2-1 courses which I get paid a lot more for. Hopefully this will come off. I've started teaching a new student french 4 hours per week. I've been paid for the student (£3000 gross - need to remember there is tax on that!).

    Money out/ saved
The library gave us a book that I had bought for ds1's stocking, so I will return that £7 back in
I've got a grocery collection tomorrow which is more than usual but covered by the student payment bonus for Christmas day.
OH and I have decided not to do Christmas presents so I'll save one I had for his birthday.

I'm working on surviving this Christmas, working hard and not forgetting anything! Positives are just too numerous to write today, I'm just grateful for everything, from our health, our location, our cat... my children behaving well and including the student... I'm so lucky and grateful.

I don't have much to do in the next few days, but I'd like to work on:
    - getting a good, simple morning routine for these Christmas hols, and beyond
    - finish my 'work' list
    - collect groceries, plan meals depending on dates and store well.

I too shall be re-gifting chocolates, as they mostly either contain gluten or are made in a factory that makes gluten-containing products. Just can't risk any cross-contamination. And the Hotel Chocolat ones did look sooo nice - they have already been given to some friends who deserve posh chocs!

The thing about anxiety is interesting, isn't it, earthie?  It sounds similar to the reframing that I was doing for myself (not with clients, in other words) - that adrenaline was just that, a hormone, and it could be used to spur action rather than letting it churn your insides.
