Got my £125 yesterday afternoon. Immediately applied for First Direct. At the end of the process they said they'd get back to me in five working days with a decision. Is this just a nice way of saying "jog on"? Has anyone been accepted immediately?

I'm not superkeen on applying to M&S as they're not offering cash. Which just leaves Halifax and its £75.

I got mine this afternoon! I wasn't expecting it until Friday either, so was a pleasant surprise.
£100 more for my house deposit.

So? You get a £125 gift card, with the possibility of that rising to £185, over the year. If it pays for a few weeks worth of food, that you otherwise would have spent, out of your cash reserves, it's almost as good a deal as it saves that money instead. Even if the bonus isn't as instantly gratifying it's better to have it than not have it.

Plus there's the 5% regular saver.
