Quorn cottage pie for us last night with some roasted squash.

Not sure what tonight will bring, it's a bit grey and dreary so it might be mash on the horizon.

  • Happiness is having a book case to put your cookery books on...I'm happy!

We've just had carrot pottage and toast for lunch followed by a bowl of fruit and some fat free yoghurt. Supper this evening will be cheese and mushroom omelettes with a jacket potato and a mixed salad and if HWK needs pudding there are some stewed plums. Followed by our coffee as usual.

  • It's too windy to go out here, so I've defrosted some chicken which was picked off a carcase I used for stock, and will make a stir fry with what veg I have in the fridge. A banana for pud. Green tea and a seat once I've done the dishes.

    OH had Mac n cheese.

I made a kind of cujan gumbo which I often adapt with using cray fish. Tonight I used chicken (no ham) from the one I roasted on Sunday (must portion the rest up). I actually don't like celery but in this it works

Liver and bacon with mash and cabbage and onion gravy

Only I had gravy and bread and butter as I didn't fancy it once I started cooking

I realised there was a couple of packs of cooked meat in the fridge that needed using up so ham and chicken salad with actifry oven chips (these were aunt Bessie rustic skin on chips and were very good 99p from Lidl) I had boiled egg and feta with mine.

No afters tonight but I did have a packet of cheddars with a Pepsi Max later on in the evening.

Not sure about today yet. I picked up 4 YS pork chops in the CoOp yesterday - any suggestions on what I can do with them aside from the usual grilling would be appreciated.
