How to unlock my Virgin mobile phone
Options
I have a very old (15+ years) PAYG Nokia 1100 - very basic because I don't use it that often.
Anyway I am sick of paying such high charges and decided to get an 02 Classic PAYG sim card.
Trouble is I have now discovered that my phone is locked and have read that Virgin would expect me to pay £15.32 to unlock it. As my phone is old and I have paid a fortune for my calls over the past 15 years, I don't really want to give them any more money.
Is there any cheap/easy way to unlock my phone so that I can just put the new sim that 02 have sent me in?
I am a techno-diinosaur so wouldn't be able to cope with anything complicated:o
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

You could ask them nicely to do it free as a goodwill gesture.0

Just read about it on Martin's advice page about mobiles:
Virgin Mobile Call 0345 600 0789 Up to 28 days
PAYG Free if purchased 12+ mths ago, £15.32 otherwise N/A
So will try asking them nicely:)Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time :eek:0 -
there are other providers which will working without unlocking.
e.g. Asda.
They only charge about 4p or 8p
Get a free sim from there website. NOT instore.0
