URGENT: Cashback mobilephonesontheweb WINNERS ENCLOSURE !!!
I just got a call directly from Vodafone regarding my contract with mobilephonesontheweb, you know the company from Birmingham where they went belly up & we lost all our cashback recently!
VODAFONE have just phoned me from an 0845 number (& they will/should be calling you too) & offered the following...
1. To cancel the contract after one months time without penalty (& don't even want the phone back)!!
2. To pay half price line rental until the contract expires (but keep the same minutes & texts...& keep the phone).
3. & I like this one the best...if you say "no thanks i'm not interested & would like to cancel my contract", they will then (or should) offer you the following...as they just did with me...
PAY JUST £5 PER MONTH UNTIL THE CONTRACT EXPIRES NATURALLY & KEEP THE SAME AMOUNT OF MINUTES & TEXTS. IN MY CASE 500M/250T
When I said no, the Vodafone guy said he had spoken to his manager & as a one off (yeah...like I believe that) he could do the exceptional offer for a fiver a month!
Hang in there & get the best deal by saying NO initially.
whooooppppeeeeeeee!!!!!!!
Now that's a result...it was looking grim for a while....WELL DONE VODAFONE !!!!!!

I think the difference may be in this case eco123 sounds like he has written in regarding his account and the company.
Did you call in and speak to regular customer service and request to just cancel your account piemaster?
I think personally I'd try either writing in or sending an email to them and make it clear it's an account setup through this third party company; I've got the link to the email form and included it below for you as well

Hi
The only thing I did initially was complain to Vodafone when I found out the company was not honouring cashbacks, I spoke to Dextra Solutions after Vodafone put me through on the phone.
The phone call from Vodafone was out of the blue really & not expected. From what I can gather Vodafone will be contacting all those customers who have contracts with Dialamobile/MPOTW to make the offer. Though I could not be certain wether you need to make a complaint first.
Hope this helps.0 -
Hi all I'm one of those who took out a contract with cashback from MPOTW. I'm trying to get hold of the shop from where I got the contract to see what advice they have. In the meantime I have phoned Vodafone who said I should be getting a call from the team they have set up to deal with this in the next week or so and that my account has been flagged up already. I hope they can come up with a reasonable offer. I did sell the phone I got for £130 so hoping I can cut my losses without burning my fingers.0

Hi I phoned 0870 0779 779 and spoke to the team set up to deal with the mess left by demise of Dialamobile/MPOTW. I told them I could not afford the £35 per month and only got the contract because it was on 100% cashback. I also mentioned that they had reduced the monthly fee to £5 for a friend of mine in a smililar position. The chap I spoke to said they were offering people option of cancelling or half price reduction, but as I was aware that some people had been offered £5, he was happy to offer me the same. So I'm now on £5 a month for the next 8 months = £40 plus the £140 I've already paid = £180 minus the amount I got for selling the phone £130. That means £50 for the year on 500 minutes plus 250 txt messages. Probably the last time I'll get a cashback contract - it's not worth the hassle.0

Me too! Me too! I get into the WINNERS ENCLOSURE!!! :j :j :j :j :j :j
Just spoke to the wonderful Vodafone, and got offered the £5 a month deal straight away! No hassle whatsoever!
WOOOHOOOOOOO

(runs off to do some jumping around.. and a little victory dance)
Advice to others - just keep calling Vodafone until you get someone helpful, it took me abour 5 goes, and then I got the fantastic Emma. She couldn't put me through directly to the team, but her manager authorised her to give me the deal that I would have been offered, so it's officially sanctioned.
Off to celebrate now
Best of luck to eeryone else.
