  • OK. Call to payroll done – apology received – BACS payment on it’s way on Friday.

    And breathe……

Back on track with the debt busting!!

Need a bit of makeup this month. Think I’ll try to sell something on Ebay to raise some money
(sort of a bit of a sigh with that one. Find ebay a bit of a pain really, particularly now they’re adding all sorts of costs on etc – but never seem to have much luck with local fb selling pages)

Have some LK Bennet shoes which have only been worn once and retailed at £140, should get £20 for them at least no? They’re actually really lovely but at a size 8 are too big for me.

Also triumph for January is not going into any charity shops :T – As discussed before I’m a real bargain addict. Trying to think of them as junk shops which might make them less appealing.
Have been accepted by First Direct too, so depending how long that takes to set up will be switching banks and both of us receiving the switching bonus. Don’t know how long it takes them to pay it, but that can go straight into emergency and Christmas fund.
    Excited for a new month!:j

  • How annoying about the pay but glad you're getting it back.

Good luck with the sales too x

Good luck! I’m having reasonable luck with FB sales, especially on specialist clothes sales pages for brands. There’s one called Fabulous Handbags, shoes and accessories where your LK Bennett’s will do well, price to sell but I reckon if in good condition should make at least £40-50. Local Fb selling pages are a nightmare as everyone wants to angle you down to about a quarter of what you ask.....list it for a tenner and they’re all, “wud u take £2 hun”
With eBay I now list everything Buy It Now for what I want to get, with an accepts offers button. It all goes eventually, but you aren’t giving it away either. So far this month I’ve made about £250 just selling odds and sods on FB and eBay. I’ve had more time this month, but I do a load in bulk over a morning.

  • So February!

We survived January - sober and (relatively) frugal. Certainly good habits like checking banks regularly were employed.
I finished one of my jobs in Jan, had decided to leave in Dec but as it involves client work had to 'finish' with them.

I now have more time freed up midweek whilst the kids are at school. I can do a couple of hours working from home each day to cover (actually increase) income but then I will hopefully have time to keep house in order and shop and plan properly.
February is also get fitter month. Sort of a new years resolution thing but I knew I was going to be snowed under with work in Jan so wouldn't have been realistic and would just have put pressure on me.

    So plan for today is
*get kids washed and to school
    *3 hours working from homr
    *fitness dvd
*housework (investigate re establishing some long forgotten flylady routines)
    *martial arts class tonight

  • Also treated myself to something last night. Not an impulse treat though, been needing new ones for ages and they are...... Trolley bags!

Invaluable time savers for aldi or lidl where you can't pack at the till but mine had fallen completely apart to the extent where the entire top ripped off one when I lifted it last night.

    Found cheapest on Robert dyas website and went through top cashbook so a whole 27 pence returned!!! !!!55357;!!!56834;

  • Just done the sums for January.
There was some shifting around of credit cards etc but we paid

£1151.48 to our debt up until January payday.

I have done a new SOA to reflect some more realistic balances (I find it hard with the loans, because actually my mums' are interest bearing at 3% but I have calculated the totals based on the total amount we pay back - also don't have online access to other loans so just going on what Noddle says)

Still, looks like should be breaking the 50k mark soon!

Well done, that is a great reduction this month! Will be fabulous to go sub 50k too! I am hoping to hit sub 60k by September, sub 50 is a long way away, but feels like a real milestone!

That's great news, it's going down really well and you'll soon be under the 50K mark before you know it :D
